I hotwired it lol. I didn't hack into the wiring though. Just cut an angled slit in the wires and tucked a jump wire under it. Probably the first thing I've ever successfully accomplished with wires. Thanks for the concern everyone. I'd had about 4 hours sleep in 5 days, and hadn't showered in 3 days. I was mentally broken. Luckily after someone checked out, the lady let me take a shower and a nap in a dirty room. Ugh lol. After waking up it was pretty easy to get it done, just needed to get some brain rest.

On a positive note, I got the car home FINALLY. She's having a few issues, but I'm working on it.

Good to know you made it home Alex. I agree with Greg, get it ready for DG. And also that just one problem is pretty good for that long of a trip, haha. Although that's still one hell of a problem for the situation.

Ha ha ha ha.... I posted a few days ago about how I took the pains to install a new oil cooler and lines into the FB, only to have it leak on me again in a few days. I was furious, and I got a set of FC lines and cooler, and was positive that I was NOT going to have this problem again. I get the front end up and take of the plastic undertray, but before surgery I run the car a bit so I can see exactly where the leak is coming form, which oil line fitting I had under/overtightened.

It wasn't the fittings. The drain plug on the bottom of the cooler was a tad loose. 1/4 turn and it was leak free. D'oh!

Eric, your Spidey senses were a little off...I got a 20 min test drive!!! That has to be the best handling vehicle I have ever driven. At about 6000 rpm you can really feel the power. Now only if I had a spare $42k laying around.

I tried to get him to come out but he has other plans but he did say he'd head out to a meet with sometime. He also told me stop by the shop this week to pick up something he said I would get a kick out of. I may bring it to the next meet depending on what it is!!! See ya'll in the morn!

I just got finished swapping all my bushings except for the rear lower arm bushings (those are going to take some special skills), and I'm beat. I'm going home to go to bed, and install the diff bracket tomorrow, along with all the other crap I had to remove to get to it. Then whatever other suspension components I can install while I'm waiting for parts. I ended up bending one of the lower arms trying to get the bushing out, and even though I bent it back I'm worried about it's integrity now. So I may end up getting new rear lower arms too, haha. One more thing I'll have to wait for dammit. Good night all. Oh wait, I gotta drive home first, I'm at work, haha.

Eric....... GO HOME DUDE hah! Man I know if I had a nice area to work on mine I'd be doing the same thing.

Well, I'm off to get gas, air, cigs and breakfast and meet the 8 boys and whomever else shows up and try out the new strut bar on the Vert. Really curious if I'll notice any difference since that car has such a stiff chassis and all anyway. Wish it was warmer, I shure would love to drop the top on this cruise.

^Yeah I ended up throwing away one of the sockets I used when I was throwing away all the old bushings, haha. About the same size and weight. Actually I think it might have just fallen in the trash while I was cranking on the vise, since the trash was right next to the bench I was working on. Anyhoo, my Flight Chief came in around midnight to take care of an issue with our troops working weekend duty. That was weird seeing the big boss there that late too. And he was asking me "dude, why the hell are you here working on your car parts at 0200 when you could be out with your girl?" (he keeps trying to get me to hook up with my troop, haha).

Damn I wish I could make it out with you guys today. ARGH!!! Enjoy that strut bar Greg. Maybe you can put the top down on the next cruise. I want to do one next weekend...that is if my car is on the ground again and aligned, HAHA. Enjoy the drive guys.

Oh yeah, one of the younger troops saved my *** last night too. I was pressing out one of the bushings and got the socket stuck in the arm, HAHA. Hmmm, government owned socket stuck in airman's car part, that wouldn't look too good, haha. And after I thought I had exhausted all my options, he suggested using the press, and it worked! I thanked him profusely.

Oh yeah part II...earlier this week when I was trying to get my parts disconnected from each other, I was trying to do it at lunch while everyone was gone, and they ended up coming back and helping me after lunch, HAHA. Some people are just hungry for some maintenance, haha.

Anyone free to come to Kdale and help me fix my 7? hehe I've gotta work on both my FC and FD! :-\ If you can get the FC running I'll pay ya $100(flooded I believe but who really knows if I can't unflood it). The FD I have a boost problem after a few pounds of boost it bogs out and backfires (thus blowing my cat to pieces yesterday.). Any is welcomely appreciated tho.

The new strut bar is win, made a hell of a difference. Next thing I need to do is put some struts on it and see what else is still stock on the damn thing hah! The top did make it down late in the day, forehead is a little burned. Nic swears he'll never follow me again.... something about me locking up the brakes, tossing the car around, being silly... I dunno. We had a damn good drive. 1st part was not bad, excepting for running into a couple of county mounties... 2nd half was a blast. Gary found some damn good roads. Actually there were some good spots in the first part just alot ot traffic at times but we had fun when we could.

Definitely a great day of driving. I'm going to go through and trace our route the next few days or so so I can pin point some of the better roads. As we discover more roads we can just connect them all together to make a long *** RRDI road course through northern North Carolina.
Thanks again to those who showed up. To those who wanted to but had other mitigating circumstances, we'll do more drives in the future.

The flooding problem is common and should be easy to resolve if it is due to the cold start injection and turning the car off before it is fully warmed up and out of the quick warm up program. Even if its leaky injectors it shouldn't be too hard to unflood it, but it will continue to happen. Check out this site for the instructions:
http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2n...ooding.html#a1

If it is an S5 (89-91) then just crank it without pushing the gas pedal down until it starts or your battery dies. If it is heavily flooded you might need to take the spark plugs out and give it a day or two to dry out then install fresh spark plugs and see if it starts then.

Remember you need fuel, air, compresson, and spark to run and without any one of these your engine will not crank.

[Castalia] - just east is the nice long straights and sweeping curves that we hit top speeds
SR1106 - beaughttiful looking road with the snaking incline, just easy of [Youngsville]. Just after Greg locked his tires up and nearly gave Nic a heartattack
[Raynor] SR1607 dangerous road where we saw all sorts of black skid marks (none caused by our group) but was a wild drive.

I got one I'll give you. I ordered it last year and when I put it on the car it won't fit over the alternator mounting bracket. It may have been designed for an S4 instead of an S5. It was around $20 and that's why I ordered it. But hate the noise it makes when the car flexes, sounds like something is ready to fall off.

Hey everyone, I was driving to work this afternoon, the 4:00 to Midnight shift, and saw a black second gen RX7 for sale at the intersection of Purnell and Capital Blvd. Its parked on the nor'east side of the intersection with a for sale sign on it. It looks great from a distance, the sign says its a '91 RX7 with 149K miles. Thing is, it has some awful red/black velour seat covers and S4 tail lights, but has the 91 wheels. It appears to be in pretty good shape inside except for the seats. The joke is they're asking $3300. I guess that's not bad if its got a rebuilt engine. Its an NA, not a turbo. I didn't recognize the car and have no idea who it might belong to.

That section is prime grade A road. I really really really want to take the T2 on that section again.

That was a controlled skid. I was all ready to hit that curve, in fact I had hit the gas and downshifted but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Gary makes a sudden left haha! It handled the lockup very well. Car wanted to skitter but I corrected it and could have just gone around the right rear of you guys if needed. Damn car never ceases to amaze me.

That section needs to be hit again now that we know what it looks like. I'd love to take the T2 through that section. You got to wonder how many people have screwed up on that one!

I got lucky and picked up a Cusco front strut bar on here from a friend and the next day found another Cusco front and rear set on eBay. I'd been looking for one of these forever, I mean forever ever. Could never find anyone with them in stock new and they never pop up used on here or eBay. Somehow I got lucky and scored twice in about 24 hours. All 3 bars look brand new.

I put the other front one on the T2 about an hour ago and went for a spin to wash the dust off and see what I could tell. Wasn't able to get crazy like I was doing with the Vert today but hit a couple of spots I like and could tell an immediate difference. Can't wait to put the rear one in and see what happens.

Greg, did you have any trouble fitting them to the car? I got a generic Strut Bar last fall and when I put it on the car it didn't clear the alternator bracket. Whenever the chassis flexed I could hear the thing "ping" off the bracket. It might not have been the correct design for an S5 so I was wondering how it went for you.
