Here's the RE5 proper unit (Suzuki-speak for the engine) and the auxiliary port phasing - one primary p-port and two secondaries way before the GSL-SE got that fancy. Factory peripheral ports!

It's older than any RX-7, runs points to a CDI ignition. As an added bonus, as a single rotor it still manages to get worse mileage than the cars so that's always fun. No old man has to be self conscious about a small bladder on the bike - the gas tank always needs a gas station before I do.

Crit, your RE5 proper unit looks really nice.

And your unselfish support for the petro industry is admirable.

Thanks for the kudos Greg!

You will regret the day Brett.

You pulled this one out of the archive Ray! It was good to see you and the silver SE last Tuesday. You should make it a regular routine. We need a picture man. And the RE count has not been recorded for quite awhile.

Hey now, I've gotten 2 out of here just this month! :-)

I could start a junk yard, wouldn't have to mow the lawn if it's covered with cars and oil spots.

Hey guys, I've been tossing around the idea of re-homing this '83 GS. What do you guys think it's worth? If you're interested, I'm looking for $3000 to break even, but I will accept more. I will only sell to fellow enthusiast.

Running, driving beater. Has rust in typical spots, busted dash, resprayed peeling clearcoat. No title, GA registration (Pre-1985). Needs windshield trim clips and it sounds like one rear wheel bearing is bad.

Chassis has 218k miles, unknown miles on running stock 12a that I swapped in. Emissions and rat's nest stripped off.
Pristine glass moonroof
Racing Beat air cleaner
Aftermarket header (Pacesetter?)

Things I've replaced:
Windshield
OE style clutch& resurfaced flywheel
Combo Switch
Racing Beat Springs
Tires (Federal SS595, 185/60-13)
Front sway bar bushings
Master Cylinder Cap
Tie rod ends, pittman arm, hatch lift strut, caliper rebuild kits
Brake rotors, oil pan gasket
Ball joints, strut mounts, poly bushings in front, rear shocks
Exhaust manifold gasket
Clutch hydraulics
Seats
Battery

Comes with non-roller parts car, which is Levent Gokcen's retired '84 GSL race car.
Spare transmission, condition unknown.
1 disassembled blown up original engine. (1 good housing, rotor, & everything else)

3k seems reasonable. not sure how next owner will like the hood. is it wrap or painted? having no title can hurt it. here in SC it's a real pain so i never bother buying anything without a title. post it in the marketplace.

Sure is pretty.

And the OCD on that unit is damn near perfect.

Yeah. That hood is from the parts car. The original hood has rust problems under the hinge bracket. Whole car needs a paint job.

Those hoods are valuable as long as they don't have any rust.

So is the rest of that unit.

Hey All!

I had ended up talking with Brett a few weeks back before he sold his FD. Found out he's a really great guy and local. He has been a huge help giving advice on my search for a Chaste White FD. He invited me in here as well. Turns out I found one with 20k original miles. Having a compression check run on the car today and hoping for the best. Assuming everything is good I will be picking the car up. The one question I have is the paint condition. I'm trying to figure out if chaste white has a clear coat? I know the metallics generally got a clear coat. The paint on the roof and trunk looks pretty heavily oxidized, no peel or anything coming up. Everywhere else it looks great though. Going to include a few photos I have. Not sure if I can correct the paint or if this would need a respray? Any advice?

Beautiful car man!! 20k miles is practically new! And the best color and year :-) I think the original paint was a 2 stage base + clear. If you can't get the roof and trunk polished back in shape, I'm sure you can find a body shop that can repaint those sections and blend it into the surrounding panels. Hope the compression numbers come back high!

Thank you sir! Compression is excellent 107/110 - proceeding with picking this one up. Hopefully can have shipping arranged and have it by next week!

Awesome! If you have trouble finding a reputable shipper, you could do what the guy who bought mine did - take a few days off work and U haul that sucker across the country!

A white FD is something I could live with.

Even though it has fuel injectors.

The FD is getting picked up July 2nd. Closed trailer across the country and should be here within 5-7 days after pickup. Fingers crossed everything goes well!

I'm in, Tim. Weather will dictate whether I'm on a rotor or in a boinger, though.

I'll be there. At the last meet we talked about going to Frontera Grill this month since Taco Mac has been getting consistently worse.

Boingers not allowed Crit, you know that. Bring the bike.

Tommy, what you talking about, more fake news?

Where're we meeting anyway?

Taco Hell or Mex-Mex-Sex Grill?

Tim, if you'll be there, I'll be there.

But let me know by noon tomorrow, it's my last day of work.

I could stop by after I punch out, but then I'll need to go home and get the LE.

Let me know.

If it's all boingers, I'll probably head home and work on the garden.
