I didn't know that Robert, the virus is all over the place and killing lots of good people.

Very scary.

I picked up a 12A core last weekend, my favorite pastime, tearing down 12A cores.

It was a gift from a couple of guys over in Watkinsville who repair old British sports cars.

Came out of an MGB.

Their garage is like heaven, Healey's, A's, B's and Jag's all over the place.

Pretty ones, most with perfect paint, chrome wires and post card engine bays.

Nice guys, smart, funny and friendly, with cold Corona beer in the fridge.

So we sat around and talked. Mostly about cars, but also about the virus.

(They were picking my brain since I teach immunology and infectious disease).

Turns out, however, they're Trumpists who think this virus thing is a hoax to get Trump.

(I'd seen the Trump signs at the end of the drive and I confessed my liberalism out of respect).

So we sat and talked and drank beer and found common ground in cars and science.

And in the end we agreed we need to work together, listen better and be nicer.

Turn off Fox, MSNBC, CNN and Hannshity. Turn on Mr. Roberts and John Prine.

We also agreed we need to keep track of our beers and stop shaking hands.

Nice guys, I hope they don't get the virus.

What's your take on the idea going around that this particular virus was around (even in America) prior to February? I've heard of cases as far back as November where doctors tested patients who were negative for most virulent agents and exhibited symptoms of what is now known as Corona virus. I myself and a few others at work already had a TERRIBLE flu in January, 100% identical symptoms with Corona virus.

I'm not saying that this virus isn't terrible. I believe I had it already and if I did its absolutely awful; can't breath, fever like a MF, and a super obnoxious cough. I'm only saying that we are panicking over a test not the actual virulence.

People are stupid and are proving it daily. I saw a lady spray her car with deet…. Not Lysol or some cleaning agent... Deet. I see people buying TP for some reason. I see people using gloves but not really knowing that one side is dirty and one side clean (just think about doing fiberglass work and use the gloves like that). We need a REAL plague not this fake thing that won't actually Darwin enough people away.. All this is gonna do is make my life harder.

Well I agree, there's a good chance covid-19 has been around longer than we think, possibly even a year or two.

However the fact that it was originally pinpointed to a city in China and then spread rapidly from there is consistent with the recent emergence of a new viral strain, probably one that jumped from an animal source (called a zoonosis).

But without testing we can't know.

It's an important question because the answer tells us how to minimize and avoid this kind of pandemic.

And what actually happened is simply a matter of science, we could know the answer with some carefully designed and executed research. And lots of testing.

But in America, under Trump, we don't believe in science. We are told to pray instead.

That's why you're seeing all those stupid people out in the streets and stores James.

Know Nothings, they're called. Viruses love Know Nothings.

Anyway, this is just one pandemic. There have been many before and there will be many more.

So you chose: Prayer or Science. And vote accordingly.

Here is a link about John's situation, he is older with a lot of complications.

https://www.billboard.com/articles/c...fie-john-prine

He is one of the most talented song writers that you may not know about, a national treasure if you ask me.

I hope he makes it.

How to ruin an RX-3 and change the subject to something that doesn't make Conservatives uncomfortable:

Thanks for the update on John Prine Robert, hard news but we need to know, I'm routing for him.

Those are pretty good numbers on that car... the fact that you cant see the body thru the wrap scares the hell out of me. There was some nasty rust showing underneath in a couple of the pics. I would run away at that price

James!! I swear I had it in January too. I lost 60 hours of PTO time at work in January. I went to an urgent care place first because primary care doc wasn’t in that day. They gave me two scripts told me to stay home three days. Three days I was worse. Same symptoms. Went to primary. He’s an infectious disease Dr on top of my primary. He says they gave me wrong script so he switches me says stay home three more days. I get mildly improved go back to work one week later get much worse relapse. Go back he gives me a high power antibiotic says stay home few more days. I did and got better in a few days but it took me 2-3 weeks to get feeling normal again. Temperature, chest breathing tight bad cough .. (I never did have pneumonia according to Dr.). I think I had it but nobody believes me.

Hey Martin, there's some FD gurus in the OGTA group, you should contact Brett and tell him what's going on, I'll bet he can help.

James and Paul, I'll bet you guys did have the Trumpvid-19 virus, it seems to prefer Conservatives and Libertarians for some reason.

The paint scheme (wrap scheme??) is too "dodge" for my taste.
