Look forward to seeing Ol' Blue again! I just registered, still have to book a room though. I recently picked up an FD project, though it won't be DGRR road trip ready in time, so I'll be taking the FC again. Some pictures of the FC & new to me FD...

Thumbs up

All signed up and room booked!
Location change has me alittle worried but I'm willing to give it a try this year.
I attend for the roads, cars and people.
Can't wait!

The location change may be a good thing? time will tell i guess. I do think there is more room there than the Lodge. Im just a little worried about truck and trailer parking but it should be fine. Im still very excited!

I bet that half bridge sounds brap-ilicious - probably will wake the dead on the dragon! My 3rd gen is already way past stock and has some extensive mods - a big BW single turbo, DBW throttle setup, a really sweet fuel system and it's running on a Link G4+ Fury ECU, though the short block is a brand new Mazda 13BREW with zero internal mods. I got it with only 30 break-in miles on it, and the paint is about a year or two old. The previous owner was going for a road course/drag beast, I want something a bit more street friendly - basically a sleeper like my FC, so it won't beat me up too much on the long drives to & from DGRR, but can kick butt when I flog it. So I've got a bunch of things on my to-do list, here's the priority items:

- Redoing the ECU wiring harness - PO built a nice mil-spec harness, but he didn't include wiring to manage the stock FD's OMP - I'll be putting that back in, and setting it up just like my FC with the RA adapter kit and a gravity feed pre-mix tank, controlled by the ECU. I hate having to pre-mix at every gas stop.
- Restoring a working AC system, which probably means relocating the big front mount IC to a stock mount config, or going to a V-mount setup.
- Doing a few reliability mods - add a 2nd oil cooler (R1 setup); oil pan brace/stud kit, etc.
- Improve the off boost drive-ability with lots of street tuning, and once the motor is broken in, get a proper dyno tune from a reputable tuner.
- Add in an audio system (has none now), and do quite a bit of interior restoration work, as it's a bit worn.
- As for the body, I'm keeping it as-is; only thing I might add is a Mazda R1 front lip spoiler

Me and the wife are going to finally try to make it this year as my years long FD project finally wrapped up. Signed up and paid the last couple years and wasn't able to finish the car, this year we're all in. . Bummed about it being in a motel parking lot though... I love Bryson City and want to meet everyone and see all the rotaries, but I'm there for the mountains and cabins and all too... probably stay at Tapoco or Fontana. Then again, Nantahala brewing has some damn good beers. We'll see. If anyone wants to check out my car/build click the link in my sig.

I really think you should consider staying at the Microtel if you can. It will be the "HUB" and you will see, hear, and smell more rotaries in one place than anywhere else there. Bryson City is very close to the Hotel.

I am about 99% sure I am coming. It's only a question of if the wife is coming too. She seemed kind of unsure when I said "Well, of course we take the RX-7."

Just registered today. I selected as bringing the FD, but I'm still not decided if I'll bring it or the FC. Looking forward to getting to meet everyone!

I'll be joining for the first time ever. Been a rotary enthusiast since 2001 or so. I'm a little nervous about the drive up but I know the GTU is good for it. Looking forward to a great time!

Are you going to go up Wednesday or Thursday, Markus? If anyone should be nervous, it's me with all of about 70 miles on the car since I finished! Obviously, I'll have way more by then.

Jerry,

I think I am going to begin my drive Wednesday morning. There are quite a few others from around our area that are making the drive up as well. Hoping to cruise up with a decent group of cars for the ride. Lets do it!!

I think I'm going to head up Wednesday too, so we will have to plan a caravan at some point. If I'm going to go, I may as well take the extra day off and really have some fun.
