Old guys with 12As club meeting
Good to see you too Collin and thanks for bringing your mom, it was great talking with her.
Here's the 11-01-13 OGTA Report:
The OGTA Rotor of the Month Award went to this biker guy who showed up on a 1976 1 rotor Suzuki motorcycle. Wow.
Click the pic to hear the 1 Rotor purr:
Greg the Elder was the only 12A in town, his maroon FB looking better than ever, with its newly installed RB header and presilencer, freshly rebuilt Nikki, touch up paint under the hood and some really classy 10 mm Magnacors:

Fred brought his drifting FC, hadn't seen him in a year or two. Check out those new wheels he got:
And Brett et al graced the crowd with his nicely done and well worn Tornado Gray FC:
The Drifter and the Tornado, both pretty cars, hard to decide who takes the FC award this month.
Jeremy was fashionably late in his immaculate white FD, I hope the shots come out:
There were a few FE's, although not as many as usual. Holly finally made it to a meeting after a long absence:
Tommy needs to wash his front wheels to get that brake dust off - Tommy, I'm looking forward to the UGA - Georgia Tech game:
(Go Dawgs!)

After that, not much for actual Wankels, but the Rotary Love was everywhere.
Mike chose to leave his beloved blue FB at home and introduce his new 2013 SkyActiv CX-5, Miss Scarlett:
(The SkyActivs are forming an OGTA subsidiary called the OGSA's. You'll be hearing more about them down the road).
Collin showed up, in a Saab (hey, the dude lives in Vermont, cut him some slack) and he brought his mom, who knows a thing or two about rotaries, and sons who own rotaries.
Also Andy appeared, first time in 3 years. He has a 1 year old kid now, which means his mint SA is parked and he's driving a 4 door used Mazda3, which is actually a pretty decent car.
Also Zach made a rare appearance, not in his white FC, The Survivor, and still in his work dress, but good to see him none-the-less.
This white Detroit Truck belongs to Billy, although so far I haven't been able to get a picture of him anywhere near it:
Rumor has it Billy is building a really nice blue REPU, but some of us are having our doubts.
Here are some group pics:

Nice work Brett. Your grammar is excellent and your math is improving.
However, Conventional Wisdom holds that:
SA's = 3.0 12A's
FB's = 2.0 12A's
FC's = 1.0 12A
FD's = 0.5 12A's
FE's = 0.25 12A's
SkyActivs = 2.0 12A's
Anything with 1 rotor = 5.0 12A's
All other Old Skools are evaluated by the 12A Equivalents Committee on a per car basis and generally exceed SA's in value.
Of course I realize that in the state of Georgia, Conventional Wisdom is not held in high regard.

Hold on a second....since when does a four cylinder econobox with a warranty have more 12a equivalence than an RX-7? That must be some of the ugay math.
It's the SkyActiv Tommy.
SkyActiv is a profoundly new concept in internal combustion engines and a new age chassis that greatly improves gas mileage and performance.
Once they transfer SkyActiv technology to the 12A, Mazda is going to release a new 40 mpg, 200 HP RX-7 that handles like a snake through the grass.
It'll have pop up headlights with round retro halogen bulbs and look a lot like the old FB, but on steroids.
Speaking of which, can you get tickets to the Georgia Tech vs UGA game this fall? I'll go bare chested if you will.
Yep that looks correct Brett, the meeting seemed like a 14-15 12A meeting to me.
But not a record.
That was set in the low 20's at Crit's First Lake House Event and matched at one of the monthly OGTA meets back at Jeffery's in Suwanee.

Where do these meets typically take place? I'm from Tallahassee FL and if it's not too far of a drive for me, I'd be more than happy to spend a day in GA.

Hey Native, What part of Tallahassee are you in? I grew up there and my parents still live down there.
We are talking about possibly changing the location, but these meets take place the first Tuesday of every month in the Buford/Swanee, GA area. That's just NE of Atlanta and probably 5-6 hours from you (7-8 if you get here during rush hour).

I lived in the NE side of Tallahassee. Killearn and whatnot. I have since moved from there and live in Panacea now, which is about an hour south right on the water.
Really was hoping this would be doable for me. I haven't even taken a trip that far in my 7 before without it being on a trailer. But it seems as if I'm the outlier of the south. I know of only two other people in the area with running 7s, of any generation other than mine. The closest guys to me are Pensacola, Tampa, and Jacksonville; still three hours out minimum.
Rotary Freak
Thank goodness I didn't have to post the date error Ray. You did a great job on the picture story and captions. No one can fill your shoes, we need you there EVERY month to take pics.
Ray, I would vote for your new 12A equivalents, however I agree with Tommy; boingers cannot get more points than any other rotary powered vehicle. I like your description of a new Sky Active rotary though.
Mike, No public bare chested for me. Ray and Tommy will have to represent.
NativeBeggars - if you find that you ever have to make a drive to Atlanta, just schedule it on the 1st Tuesday of the month. We have rotorheads driving from AL, NC and SC regularly for the OGTA meetings.

Well that would be you Fred, seeing that Brett had to split his FC two ways with Tara.
You SkyActiv Haters will see the light someday.
Let me know when you get those tickets Tommy.

Next meeting is November 5th, 2013, JB, mark it on the calendar. Last I heard it's going to be at the Shrinking Kilt in Buford.
But I also heard the Little Blonde Waitress isn't working there anymore, and there's some discussion about changing the site.
Hey Crit, if you or Dena are tuned in, I'm picking up a lot of chatter from out-of-staters wanting to see what this Lake House Meeting is all about.
Any chance you guys can schedule one in the next month or two?
