Well, that's the car that Tim got for me. I bought it on eBay from Savannah while stationed in Kansas and running drills in California. He went and had a look at it one weekend, then went to pick it up the following weekend. The car impressed my friends enough in KS that I was given a blank check to find another good one to deliver to a friend.
I found an 85 in Atlanta with a 4-port bastard 13B block and Holley, so I bought it locally, took it to Dobbins ARB in Marietta, and put my 12A in it and took that 13B. Two cars in the air, two engines and trannies out, two engines and trannies in, in one day. The Air Force boys were impressed.
The 12A lived on in the other car until the car was wrecked and made several cross-country drives in the next two years, but the joke was on me. The 13B I had swapped in had a blown apex seal, stuck side seal and was overheated, but it ran like hell for a while. I ended up selling it before getting married, but was hooked. The Dellorto on the car from the previous photos was an awesome setup, but it's EFI for me now.
Woot!

I kind of liked that Black car.
Up date: The White One, which I thought would rack up more miles than Mike's Tornado Gray One, looks like it might have blown an apex seal (only 150,000 miles old, so sad). Probably because of Holly's spirited driving on the Mountain Run.
So I might be showing up in the Silver One next time.

Ray, Holly's driving would have nothing to do with it. If anything, it would've made everything a bit better!
It might be a bit of a dull question, but did you pull the plugs and do the poor man's compression test? Or have you hitched it to the fancy rotary compression tester? Only way to know...

Ray, no harm in trying an overnight seafoam bath. Might free up a stuck seal. Are you planning to work on it this weekend? If so maybe I can stop by. I would like to see what stuck or blown apex seal looks and sounds like, and I work really cheap.
I think we can all agree that any calamity striking Ray's car can be attributed to Holly's "spirited driving". Holly, I am only kidding.
