Nah, all puffs are consistent and what not. You thinkin you sold me a bad motor, bitch? lol. You know I'm kidding. I'm pretty sure it's a vac leak after talking to a few people and researching.

lol, thanks for the help man. I'm going to give the car another shot tomorrow or this weekend and go over all the gaskets/ mating surfaces.

Damn Brett, that 13B sounds worse than a hoot owl in a hurricane.

I told you you should of sold the FC and gone with that sweet red 85 GS

That's funny you mentioned that, I found another one just like that one sitting in a field near my mother's old house a while back and contemplated trying to buy it off the guy.

But, I did get the FC running better today. That S5 UIM was cracked on the back intake tube, so I swapped the S4 intake back on and it's much better. One thing though, it's not idling too well. It tries to, then dies. I'm guessing there's a little vacuum leak that I missed somewhere. Atleast it runs and the brakes are better now, those were some of my bigger concerns.

Does anyone know if the bottom vac spot on the charcoal canister is supposed to get vacuum pulled on it? Crit? Chris? Anyone? lol

For an FC, no idea. Try the FC section.

On second thought, just check the FSM.

I drove the FC to pick up my little brother from our grandparents today and it drives pretty well. The 5/6th ports are functioning properly, and it pulls pretty nice. I'm guessing there's one more little vacuum leak that's making it idle poorly, I'll get on that soon. Atleast I can make it out to the meet this Tuesday in a rotary powered car finally!

Brett, to get to the meet, just bump up your idle with the set screw (on top of the TB) to like...2.5k or as low as you can get it for it to stay running. At least you won't die at lights.

That sounds good Collin, I'll play with that today. I'm going to clean up the FC and then go drive it in the mountains today! And Ray, the Mitty looked like fun. I like this pic.

Ray- can I bug you to bring your timing light to the Tuesday meet? I haven't set the timing on this motor, and that might be one of the big things that's killing my idle.

Kristy- can you bring your multimeter, too, so I can set my TPS? My uncle fried mine, I broke the first one, and Collin said you had a good one

Billy- will you remember to bring that dual belt alterntor pulley for me to buy? Thank you thank you thank you.

Sorry to mooch so much, but it's going for a good cause, right?

It will be at Twisted. There is always talk about going somewhere else. Twisted just has a great parking lot. It could have better food, better beer, and give us our checks without having to track someone down..... but they give us a discount and we don't get run off...

whats wrong with the idle? does it hunt up and down?

check the tps by simply unplugging it. if that fixes it, then its the tps. clean the connectors and try it again. if it goes back to **** idle, check to see if you need to calibrate the tps. if you need to know how, its easy as **** to do.

Ah, I didn't know you could unplug it and do that. I'll give it a shot tomorrow when I'm sorting through everything else...

Washed the outside and cleaned the inside of the FC today. I got about 3 miles past Dahlonega headed towards the mountains and it started overheating, so I turned back and limped it home. A loose clamp on the BAC valve was the culprit, along with a broken overflow hose nipple below the radiator cap. Peter should be hooking me up with a new radiator overflow nipple tomorrow, I tightened up all the clamps, and I'm in the process of installing a temp gauge like the one Ray has on his FB. Hopefully the motors alright, it got pretty damn close to the H...

But it still looks good though, right? lol

Hey Brett sorry I didn't run with you today, I was in Alpharetta and I was busy. I'm getting a place in Buford soon, so we can go for mountain drives more often.

That's cool man, it turned out pretty shitty anyways when it started overheating... But yeah we'll definitely have go tear it up sometime this summer, I'm moving to Dahlonega like 2 miles from where that little course we drove starts. Plus I get to drive part of it every morning towards school

Dean, the New Guy from Jefferson with the black 83 FB called and wanted to know if we really were meeting in Boston and where to find directions.

However, contrary to the recent rumors, this is not true. Only Tim will be at the Cheers in Boston tomorrow night.

For all you New Guys who haven't figured out yet that you can't believe anything you read on this thread:

THE MEETING TOMORROW EVENING IS THE SAME TIME AND PLACE IT'S ALWAYS BEEN, TUESDAY EVENING (FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH) 6:30-7:00 AT JEFFERIES (NOW TWISTED SISTER) IN SUWANEE, GA.

THIS WILL NEVER CHANGE.

However regional weekend meetings do happen from time to time, such as Crit's Lake House, the Bash at Brett's Place in the Sticks, the Mitty get together the day before yesterday, etc.

Now, having spoken this rare bit of truth, back to the nonsense!

Rotor Heads at work:
