Ben/Juno-I won't be able to make it, since I work closing on Saturdays, and I couldn't get the day off because of the holidays.

As for everyone, I think I may have a coolant seal issue. I'm burning through coolant like it's water, and will get some blue smoke on startup if it sits for long enough to cool the engine temp. I've started to pop the little red piece on the radiator cap every time I go to turn off the car to relieve some of the pressure, but I think I'm in deep **** with this motor....

Ray-Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to put my dog down earlier this year. I'm not one who usually cries, but I cried for hours.... Losing a good dog is harder than losing a good friend sometimes.

Quad, keep looking around for where the coolant is going. Blue smoke is not indicative of coolant. Coolant smoke (steam) is usually white. I am not sure if this applies to 13Bs or not, but check around the bottom of the intake manifold. On 12As there are collant passages in the intake manifold. These buggers can leak. The coolant runs down on the exhaust manifold and is gone. One of the 13B guys should weigh in and tell you if there are coolant passages in the 13B.

The smoke I'm getting is from my exhaust, and it's huge thick clouds. Sometimes it's white, sometimes it's blue.

I also get some wicked backfires if I drive the car above 50 for an extended period of time, and if I'm driving, and I let my foot off the gas while I'm in motion I backfire as well...

Kevin, I don't know if you're a golfer or not but if we ever find ourselves in a clearing together, don't feel bad that I don't want to stand next to you when the clouds start rolling in.

Ouch. Could it be, *****, coolant in the combustion chamber? Keep us posted Kevin, maybe we'll be doing a community rebuild next. If so, I'm voting on doing your 12A, of course. (But not the 13B, 13B's are too pedestrian).

Dudes, probably in the next 24 hours this post will pass the quarter million views mark. Not bad for a bunch of old guys with 12As.

Well I used Karl's car to go on a date with this cute girl today because Karl's radio works... the radio breaks when I leave my house, the car wouldn't start at her house when I went to pick it up, then it was pulling 8 volts and I was trying to get home and swap cars before it died on us but I wasn't quick enough, the car died on me and April (her name) in the middle of the road (thankfully not highway). MY mom had to come get us, take April home, take me to autozone for a new alternator and Karl's car is back home with me safely but talk about ruining the date...... I am mad at that car right now..... but she wants to reschedule thankfully, I was scared this would be too big of a bad sign and scare her off.

Crit, you might not want to go golfing with me or Kevin.

Ray- Sorry to hear about Hannah, it always sucks to loose a pet. I won't forget about the OGTA, I'll be back in Suwanee in a week or two.
Greg the Younger- Helicopter leasing is easy
Quad- You may have the worst luck I've ever witnessed
Chris- She obviously is a keeper, putting up with angry rotary's and what not.

Ogsx??

There is hope for the Old Guys/Girls with 16X club.

I think I need to hold out for my next rotary until Mazda decides how they are going to produce the 16X. I want it to be a sporty 2 door RX. Mazda keeps teasing us. I wonder what year they will finally produce it?

Well, I'm not too sure anymore about the coolant seal. I remember the guys at Mazcare mentioning it, but since I've been releasing the pressure from the system every time I turn off the car, it's been running better. It doesn't bog as much, but it still really dislikes hard turns. (By hard, I mean turning right at a stop sign, anything past about 30 degrees). New issues are arising though.

When I fire up the car, it'll start, stay idling lower than normal for a second, then die. Is this simply because of the cold? It seems like if I start it, and get moving, it clears up much faster than if I just sit there and rev the engine to keep it idling...

I'm thinking the blue smoke is an oil thing, I forgot blue means oil, not coolant. I'll figure it out soon enough. All I know is it's currently running, and needs a serious tune up. Maybe I'll be one of Roland's first OGTA customers. I keep meaning to call you Roland, but I'm always busy with work, I'll probably call tomorrow to talk about prices for everything I need done...

And I don't blame you Crit, I'm full of bad ju-ju. Maybe I need to find a witch doctor to cleanse the evil out. Or maybe I just need to buy a piston engine. I think me and rotaries just don't get along.

Sex sells Billy, you know that. Especially with goats.

Kevin, you need to go to the Mountain Top. Reschedule your life and plan a pilgrimage to Roland's Luxury Rotors, he'll fix you up. Pistons are for girls, you don't want to go there.

Thanks dudes and dudesses for the condolences about the Han, she was a great dog.

Chris, how'd that redate with April go? She sounds like a keeper.

Ray, just saw the news about your dog. Hang in there I've been there too. Its amazing how attached we get to our animal friends. Take care man and comfort your lady, I'm sure that she is heartbroken also. Sorry man, I don't have the wisdom or wit to say something that would make it all better.

yeah I need help, I don't know how to wire a radio haha.

April is a Keeper, I just hope she actually goes through with wanting to reschedule. She stopped returning my texts, so I made her a mixed CD to bring her at work, and hopefully she will like it.

And Kevin, yes, the gold car on CL is Karl's.
