Old guys with 12As club meeting
#4305
So since Andy showed up with the SA we need to revise the official 12A count for the March meeting:
5 FB's = 5 12A's (Kevin, in his new red sexmobile, Greg the Elder, Greg the Younger, Tim and Ray)
3 SE's = 3 12A's (Crit x2, although this arrangement was slated to change before the evening is over, Ben in his freshly painted and getting pretty SE)
2 FC's = 1.5 12A's (Colin and Brett, who might post photos later on)
2 certified boinger's = 1 12A (Holly in the Blue Bomber and Collin in his Macho Miata)
1 uncertified boinger = 0 12A's (Billy, who had the good sense to park where we couldn't see him)
1 SA = 1.5 12A's
Total 12A's = 12, A New OG@TA Record!!!
We have the potential to excede 20 12A equivalents at Crit's Lake House Bash this summer!
A lot of new cars last night:

I talked with the 12A Equivalents Committee and they've agreed to allow the petition by the FC kids to up their 12A equivalents count to 1 FC = 0.75 12As. Also Fd's have been upgraded to 0.5 12As and RX-8's to 0.333333 12A's. Boinger's driven by preferred members will now count as 0.5 12A's as well, although the committee was unanimous in its decision not to include Detroit boingers in the count. All other scoring remains the same.
So here's the 12A count for Tuesday evening, March 3, 2009 (I had to leave a little early, there might be some late comers):
5 FB's = 5 12A's (Kevin, in his new red sexmobile, Greg the Elder, Greg the Younger, Tim and Ray)
3 SE's = 3 12A's (Crit x2, although this arrangement was slated to change before the evening is over, Ben in his freshly painted and getting pretty SE)
2 FC's = 1.5 12A's (Colin and Brett, who might post photos later on)
2 certified boinger's = 1 12A (Holly in the Blue Bomber and Collin in his Macho Miata)
1 uncertified boinger = 0 12A's (Billy, who had the good sense to park where we couldn't see him)
Total 12A's = 10.5, not bad for a dark and cold winter night!
Should be warm again for the April meet, maybe even some daylight.

Ray, you must of got some bad Bass last night. Please come to your senses and correct this miscarriage of fairness.
Looks like it was great meet last night. I hope to make it next month.

The red one Stu, it's an 85 GS in great shape, although Kevin thinks it's a bit too pedestrian and wants to juice up the suspension and exhaust.
Well the 12A Equivalents Committee voted on this Mike, they felt it was in the best interests of the OGTA community. And after all, the FC kids did show up last night.
As far as records go, in accordance with the Old School Principle, as rotaries get older, their 12A equivalence value increases. So it follows that as the FC kids and their cars grow up, their 12A equivalence value goes up too, right?
Anyway, we missed you last night, even though you weren't needed to break the 12A record. Hope to see you soon and that Michelle is on the mend. And check out the FB market, lot's of folks seem to be unloading them these days, probably the economy (good for OGTA members!).
Kent that is some pretty severe rotary separation you're dealing with there, hope you weather it ok. SE's are getting pretty popular down this way, yours would fit right in.
Brett you might want to stick with photography, that was going pretty well. The photoshopping skills don't look like they are ready for prime time. Looks like my front suspension has caved in.

Great to meet you too. Welcome to the OGTA, even though you don't have a 12A.

the only time i almost ended up on the side of the road was when a 18wheeler blew by me and the side draft almost blew me off the road. damn light cars /QUOTE]
AND, You should never be driving a rotary slower than any 18 wheeler. Drive faster next time and hope you join us again next month.

What are you thinking? This will mess up the beautiful symmetry we had going (2nd gen = 1/2, 3rd gen = 1/3, etc.). Not mention this will play hell with the record books. We'll become like baseball. Is that record on steroids or was it natural?

OK, Holly and Collin are going to have a cow, but boingers are out, the official March count returns to 11, which is still a record! (the old one was 10.5 for the Dec 8, 2008 meeting).
No beer for me last night, had to go home and work. Jeffrey's used to have lots of hot waitresses, wonder what happened?
