Ill stick with my rican builders. Plus i rather learn to build the thing myself then let a stranger touch my baby=D
Ive been racing in jax for a while. While norm may know his stuff. He came to save his shop too late. His dumb *** son ROn Had already drove that shops name into the ground. scared me and all my friends with his tall goofy retardedness. plus. Norm cant be too smart if he let Ron run that shop for years in the condition it was managed. I have seen RON port the exhaust of a 12a without taking the motor out. HE simply took the header of and started grinding away.
I haqve seen a couple cars built by NORM and they sound crisp. IM sure they are assembled very nice.
But RON has done his damage. RON made me realize to not trust anyone with my baby and to do all the work myself=D

and here is Norm to defend himself:
You are correct, Ron ruined Driving Force's name. His father (I'm not his father), the owner of Driving Force kicked him to the curb. I was hired to finish the rx7's that were left at Driving Force that were unfinished. Most of them sat for over a year before I even got to them. I work at Mazda North America Operations there in Orange Park for 9 years. I was the lead technician for Mazda rotary engine line. I personally built over 10,000 rotary engines in a 7 year period and I was the first person in the US to do a rebuild on the Mazda rx8 prototype Renesis engine before the rx8 was sold in the US. The plant was closed in 2004 and moved to South Carolina. The only association I ever had with Ron was that I built engines for him until I seen how shitty his work was and then on I didn't want my name on any of his work. After Ron left I helped his father out at Driving Force so people could get the work they paid for and their cars back! Also I did a lot of work in my own driveway and didn't really want the publicity so my front yard wouldn't be packed with rotarys, so there are probably quite a few rotarys that had my hands in them still running today. Not to bash any body I just want to set the record straight so nobody will get the wrong idea about me or my work. I believe myself to be a straight forward and honest person.

Norm is a really good guy and I know this personally from people who's engines he has built which are still running solid (some of them forum members). I recently had my engine rebuilt with my friend, Russ and we needed some parts. Basically my engine had the factory 3 piece seals and were measuring in at 7mm or less, and I needed better ones. Well my car had an engine from another shop and the body came from Norm. When Norm heard I was going through a rebuild he apologized multiple times like the gentleman he is and offered to give me any parts I needed EVEN THOUGH he had nothing to do with the engine. Trying not to be too selfish, I took him up on that offer and asked for some 2 piece apex seals. He happily gave me a barely used set of 2 piece seals that all measured ~8.5mm and had only 1,000 miles on them.
If I had the money I would have gladly paid him whatever the asking price was for an engine, but seeing how Russ has had a couple years rebuilding rotaries and working with 7's, barely charged me anything because we're real good friends, let me help him with the rebuild, I didn't need too many new parts, and I'm short on cash -- it was obviously the smarter choice to have my friend help/(or rather do) the rebuild. So yeah it's fine if you and your friends want to do the rebuild and prefer it, but please keep misguided comments away from others who need the help.
OH, and of course I'm extremely happy that my car is back on the road and running well. Can't wait till my Gatorbacks come in and I change my spark plugs. Then all I need is a new TPS, but I'll try to get by for now. I'm gonna try to enjoy it for another month (at least a week or two after the break in period) before I sell her. I'm still moving so I still need a different ride for the move.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to: Josh for helping with the car and noticing the spark plug issue, Syrus for bringing the engine hoist to my house, Greg for the front plate, Norm for the apex seals, and most of all thank you Russ for all your hard work, patience, friendship, and help during the whole rebuild process!! You guys and the rest of the RX-7 community are freakin awesome and I'm gonna be real bummed out when I have to sell the car and tarnish the community by not having a 7. However I'm definitely not gonna lose touch with you guys, because you are all truly amazing friends. Thanks again.
As for the Cars and Coffee meet, I work every Saturday morning so I'll see what I can do especially since that next weekend I turn 21 and I might need that "unplanned day" if I'm not feeling well that Saturday morning lol.
Also 200+ posts on this thread, sweet!!
Sorry for confusing you for ROn's dad... THats must of been a real insult.. SOrry. I assumed you were related to that retard.
But anyway. Like i said i met a kid with one of your street port motors and the car sounds hella healthy.

lol yeah a bit off topic but I love the new street fighter. I am currently trying to finish earning every character. I jusst picked up Resident Evil 5 though so I think I am gonna play that for a sec.
^ Yeah my brother got SF4 and it's pretty cool, but the super muscular characters are so ridiculous I can't help but laugh when I play that game. I'm not very good (never been good at Capcom fighting games), but my brother enjoyed it. RE5 is great, I played the demo on my PS3 and it was freakin cool. My brother just picked up RE5 for his 360 today and it was just as enjoyable. The only thing is Sheva (the partner) is a pain in the *** and I wish you could give her more specific commands such as staying behind like they did in Resident Evil Zero.
I can't get off work on Saturday but I am willing to drive out with you guys after I get off work at 1pm. I'll be coming from Baymeadows area so just text or call me after then. Also, I just finished my break in period for the car and it runs amazing
I know it's a bone stock setup but I can definitely appreciate the difference between the way it drove before and after the build. Still very fun and fairly quick

How's that new RE5 Kakashi? I would get it.. but I can't play any shooting games that won't let me shoot and move
As for those that did show up, thanks for hanging out with me. Apparently girls at car meets are a plague, unless they're with their man
Seriously, wtf is up with that?! But anyways thanks for talking to me!!Now we should get a 7 meet going! How about April 4th or 5th? It's 3 weeks out, so I figure that should be close to enough time for people to plan things... maybe? What about it guys? And if that's okay with people, Cecil Field again? Or do we wanna try for another place? Not sure where else has a big place for us all to get together..... but open for suggestions : P Let's see if we can't make this happen!
Yeah it was fun today although I would have liked to see more 7's there oh well. And that V8 7 was BLASPHEMY!!
Also RE5 is bad *** I have been playing co-op with my friend and we love it.
