I figured out the spiking issue. The same day I planned on bringing the car to tracy. Hey tracy if your reading this thanks for the offer anyways. I'll prolly still be coming to ya for some other work.
I turned off the seq feature on the PFC under the functions menu and now it seem to hold boost fine at 10 lb. Before I did that I had also change how my boost controller was hooked up from Diagram 1 to diagram 2. The diagrams can be found here on the forum or in the instruction manual. My a/f is a lil off but I'll make minor adjustments when get time.
Hey guys, I am going saturday to check out a 87 fc. I have been around hondas and mitsu's for years, but am wanting to switch to rotary. what are some basic things I can check to determine if the motor is healthy? As a note I have built many piston based motors, but have zero experience with rotaries. i am looking into getting one because the concept is too damn cool. any advice would be appreciated.
compression tester. Are you familiar enough wih the engine to be able to do a compression test?
HAve a good battery. <-- helps having an accurate compression result.
SPin the motor a good 4-5 seconds. good engine are 90-100 psi per rotor.
85psi is good but is reaching the end of the road.
PS> remove the EFI fuse on the front driver side strut tower. THis disables fuel 100%

Between 11:30am-11:45am today (3/23/10) I saw a black FD with Spec '99 turn-signals and Efini symbol west-bound on Emerson making a left (South-bound) onto Philips Highway.
Wheels looked like polished aluminum or chrome, and were either CCW's or some sort of "mesh" looking center.
Who was that ?

Anyone know of a good hydraulic shop in the Jax area? I had my oil cooler hoses made a few years ago in SC, but one of the lines got chaffed through
Between that and setting up my standalone ecu, the turbo vert should be rolling again real soon.

yo everybody!
to introduce myself; i've been living in the mandarin area for about 8 years now and have been lucky enough to have a friend who gave me his white 87 n/a back in 2009. since then i've fallen in love with rotaries and have been trying to keep up with maintenance and restoration since i got mine. it was rebuilt by a man named Norman that used to work off of Atlantic about 30,000miles ago, but i've had to deal with cooling (oil and water), fuel, intake, electrical, clutch and other issues and have worked passed all of it by myself. these things are fun and frustrating to work on, but hey live and learn. im pretty laid back so if you ever need a hand im always looking to exchange experience.
its cool to know of our local rotary community, look forward to seeing yall on the road!
