OFFICIAL Jacksonville, Fl Events/Chat/Misc Thread
Hey....haven't been on here in a couple years...nor have I driven my FC in the same amount of time.
I've got to do a couple things to it to get it going again, but wanted to see what's been new in the RX-7 community of Jacksonville.
Also, I've lost contact with a great RX-7 mechanic, name Norm. I'm sure everyone here knows him, so if anyone can let me know what shop he's at now, or where to find him...let me know
Thanks

Nothing new. Still very limited meets, though there's been talk of changing that in the next few weeks.
Norm... heard of him, a local guy just had his Norm built engine blow a coolant seal prematurely. Never met him though. These cars, apart from the engine, are barely different from any other car. You dont need a rotary specialist to do anything other than a rebuild, really.

Basically, when I go from a stop, there's a knock from the rear...like something is loose.
He told me that FC's usually have that problem and that all it needs is a certain part (which I can't remember). He also mentioned a trick about wrapping rubber tubing to prevent it from happening again.
All this was a couple years ago, so I'm trying to recall what I can...all I know is that it was something he was going to help me with.
Well, the main reason I was looking for him is because he diagnosed a rear differential problem I had.

I heard he wasn't playing with 7s anymore... but again, I've never met him.
Thanks AGreen...
I hope I can find someone that likes doing this stuff close to me b/c I don't have much time to spend tinkering around anymore....
Do you know what the "rubber hosing trick" is the Norm told me about years ago? Supposed to help keep the diff mount from ever being a problem again...
