I just booked my reservation at the INN and I didn't get 25% off the low season rate. According to the person booking the room, there wasn't a discount for us.

I know this is rather late, but I would highly recommend this event! I just bought a 3rd this past weekend...I have owned SEVERAL 2nd gens over the years, so I just got wind of this. Anyway, I am in a couple of the Knoxville area Z car clubs, and there is a regional "Z Day" event yearly at the Dragon...and it is always a blast...lots of cars, car show, magazine coverage, etc. http://www.zdayzevents.com/
I realize this will not be anything on that scale, but sometimes a simple drive and meet is actually more fun, as we (in the East TN Z32 Club) found out by replacing a few monthly meets last year with Hooters dinners followed by partial "Dragon Drives" instead (partial meaning to the store in NC on the left and back to Maryville). One time only 5 cars went due to the bad January weather, yet this still was a blast. Anyway, hope to see everyone there.

Acturally, I'm expecting 50-100 cars, there will be a car show, vendor sponsored, and also this event will be covered by RX tuner magazine..
I'm really hoping this will turn out well, if not, I think just as you said, we all will have a great time with small number of people.
Hope you could make it out here with your new 3rd gen.

Ok.... initially we were thinking about all the caravan meeting in Chattanooga and then heading to Fontana Village.. But it might be too late when we all check in..
So, we are now going to meet at some restaurant in Robbinsville, NC. Its about 30-45 minutes away and closest big town near Fontana. That way some of us could get there early check in and then meet up at the restaurant for dinner. Others could just come straight to restaurant.
I'm working on the restaurant as we speak.. I'll post detail location and such later today or tomorrow.
One more sponsor: Gotham Racing!!! thanks Steve!

Great video and thanks for the comments about the maintenance Checklist. The Graham County Sheriff's Office said they'd take part in our program and talk to us a little about the Tail of the Dragon. I'll check the schedule when its posted and inform them of when we'd like them to show.
A lot of guys in this area are getting really excited about the rally and working hard to insure their cars are ready for the 700 mile round trip. I will be telling the people that are going up around here to prepare their cars for a 1,000 mile trip, 350 up, 350 back plus the driving in the area. The rotary owners coming from eastern NC will put 100-150 miles more on their rides each way so they will definitely be close to putting a 1,000 miles to their cars. They need to be sure their tires, brakes, and oil changes are good for this trip.
