Be careful Andre. Those mirrors need support inside the fender or they will wobble a
lot and deform the fender where they mount. Sounds like you've got a nice 1st gen
I can't wait to see it at the meet Sunday.

Yeah Tim I noticed that I didnt have the plate, so im cutting one out of some scrap metal that I ahve laying around to support the inside of the fenders. The only thing that bothers me is Im not shure how far foward to place them on the fenders. I may have to go to Brian's and messure the Savanah that he has out to pasture. I dont wanna have them in the wrong place The ol' gal will definatly be at the meet on sunday, just trying to figure out where this vibration is comming from. I just bought new tires for the rear, and that didnt help at all. Sam mentioned the front bearings could need a little tightning. Im gonna crawl under the ol' gal tomorrow and see. I have noticed a CLUNK when I go over potholes on the passenger rear......... maybe a strut thing? But I have never had a bad strut make the whole car vib. Weird thing is it goes away after 70mph or so. defintly needs a little TLC, but she runs like a scalded dog. She even makes my old vert feel slow . But all in all, I am definatly in LOVE with the purchase of this car. just gotta get all of the bugs worked out.

My spoiler is in the body shop getting a new coat of blact paint, and the antenna hole sealed up. Still getting a clunking in the rear of my car and the vibration. the exaust is the clunking I belive, and the vibrating, Sam belives it could be the rear drums so....... Im tearing them apart tomorrow to inspect. Any other opinions? Here's a funny note, the E-fan decided to come off of the radiator on the way to work. It also decided to hang out with the water pump so..... Im installing my taurus fan tomorrow after all. it still KINDA works, but its missing two blades now. I guess the water pump was the bigger ganster in that knife fight. lol

Vibration ideas:

1. Bent rim
2. Bad tires (seems like you addressed that on the back anyway)
3. ujoints
4. driveshaft play (check mount on diff)
5. tranny mounts
6. engine mounts
7. bushings

Thats all for now. I'd start at the tires and work your way back. Try jacking it up in
the rear and running it up to speed and see if it manifests. If it does you know its
something to do with the driveline or rear end.

I had the ol' gal up on a lift today for about 3 hours and not a drop of rust. all the bushing's felt tight, engine seems to sag to the left about a 1/8 of an inch. probably normal for the most part. I noticed that the muffler had a hole in it where the previous owner solid mounted the exaust kids sometimes lol so im gonna seal it up, and go from there. I guess the rear brakes are first, and we will see from there.

Hey, Tim. The vibration that Andre is having is MPH dependent. From the symptoms that he has described to me, and the fact that the right rear tire was slap bald, that leads me to believe that the problem is in the right rear brake.

So, who all is coming Sunday?

well after much inspection the rear brakes didnt seem to fix the problem entirely, but.... it did make a vast improvement. Also today I got my exaust fixed, adjusted my parking brake, and then went to sams where we destroyed the rats nest, did the secondary mod, and did some other improvements. Hats off to you sam. the ol' gal runs like a champ. im gonna do the front brakes as well. Im starting to notice a vibration at stopping now soooooo....... Im getting warmer. The front pads are in great shap, but that doesnt mean that the rotors aren't warped. to be continued......... Any body know why a 1983 fuel gauge wouldnt work in a 1982? Sam mentoned that the printed circut could be diffrent. ant other ideas?

Dre was suprised on what a differance it mad scrapping the rast nest and making the secondarys mechanical. We also fixed his leaky carb. The accelerator pump was shot. Dre knew who to come to for making a Nikki run right.

Just glad to help

yeah she's a happy lil' bitch now!!!! I finanally got my 130 speedo swapped. I talked to sam allready and informed that Im going to write a fact on the diffrence between a GS and a GSL dash printed circuit. apparently there's a diffrence between a GS and a GSL printed circuit that the fuel gauge wont opperate in a GS. weird huh? once I swapped the gauges out of the housing of the GSL's into my GS's it worked better than new. Everything else worked except the gas gauge. I will have the printed circuit sticky together soon after I get more info together.
