Bryan at RotorSports I guess can tune a Haltech, but I know he really doesn't like them. But yeah, go with the Haltech E6X. If R-TEK comes up with a way to ditch the AFM, that would be cool. As far as "plug and play", the R-TEK is the way to go. Price wise, you can usually pick up a good used Haltech for about the same money. In my opinion, I would go with the Haltech.

Hey-
I don't come on here too often-but stumbled in and thought I'd clarify a couple things
1) Yes we do install & tune Haltech, Electromotive TEC3, Power FC's, & Microtech
2) yes I am partial to Electromotive TEC systems- its simply far more advanced and features crank trigger ignition plus separate micro-processors for fuel & ignition result in extreme accuracy. The fact that I've used Electromotive TEC, and been a Dealer for them since the mid '80's might be one reason, but they are also located in VA & offer excellent tech support!
(but I've had a Haltech E6K in one of my 7's since '90-and yes I prefer the "K" series to the "E6X)
We plan to begin testing an RTEK modified ECU and determine whether to be "Dealers" for these as well

Thanks Bryan for chiming in. I personally like the R-Tek rechips, but thier daughter-bord setup isn't worth the money in my opinion. The fact that they still use the AFM is what is keeping me away from them. As far as thier rechip, you cant beat it for the money. Plug and play.
