Well I found my oil leak on my oil cooler. I tried everything and looked over everything, and saw nothing. So i decided to pull it out for closer inspection. I found 3 cracks in the lower bung for the oil line. With the oil line off you could not see anything but with it tightened up the cracks appeared. So i robbed the one off the 80' and put it in tonight. I degreased it the best I could and flushed out the cooler the best I could. I put it in, let it warm up, and drove to the end of the road and back. Got back topped off the oil level (the cooler holds more then I thought, it was on the LOW when i got back). I filled it up and let it idle, for some reason its smoking alot tonight(RICH). I have to go get another gallon of oil and another filter, and change the oil, a little bit of crap was left in the cooler. Should be good to go. Cross your fingers

Hey is there a meet this weekend????

If theres a meet this weekend I might not make it. I'm painting still in the room and I have a different exhaust setup I may try to install before ZoomFest.

Guys,

I may be down that way tomorrow evening or maybe sometime Friday. Going to help a couple NC rotorheads out. I know it is last minute and you guys probably have a meet already this weekend, but maybe some of you would be interested in getting together for dinner (tomorrow) or something. Not sure if I will be bringing the 7 down or not. The other possibility is me coming Friday morning, but I know that wouldn't work for most people (I have this Friday off of work).

I would like to hit the meet, but I don't think it will work for me schedule wise.

Kent

How about a 50 DCO?

https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...02&postcount=2

Or a dual 36 DCD setup?

https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...4&postcount=17

Or an OER 47MM clone?

https://www.rx7club.com/showpost.php...19&postcount=1

If you buy that 36 DCD setup I'll trade my Dell 48 DHLA for it. Dells can be turbo prepped pretty easy I here.

sounds like a clogged fuel filter maybe? clogged jet? I would say some sort of fuel issue.

So this showed up today ( I included the pic for a reason so hold on ). Its in
pretty nice shape and also at the back end of the mid pipe there are two bungs
for oxy sensors and I think a bung for an EGT sensor. A little extra surprise there.
Maybe I'll have to add some guages at some point. Of course they will be hidden
except in use so I don't spoil the stock look.

I also determined that the RE dual header will not connect to the RB midpipe so I
will have to swap the headers as well. The offset bolt holes on the flanges are
opposite from each other, I assume so you couldn't mix and match from both
vendors. Unless just the 4 bolts on the corners are enough to hold and seal the
flange.

What do you folks think? I suspect they use 6 bolts for a reason

Now I'm off to load my sandblaster and get some krylon high heat paint for the
mid pipes.

That dual 36 DCD is the shitz when it comes to stock port 12a performance.
Its a much smoother running setup and flows even better than a Dell. I can't
spend the money but if someone wanted to buy it and trade it to me. Deals on.

Hey you want a 12a for that IDA your trying to unload

Hey guys I don't know if you remember me. I met you guys once I had a clean black s5 that blew a coolant line on our little run. Then some guys complained that lived on the roads we were running on. This was in April or May of last year. I sold the s5 and have missed it ever since. Well long story short I am going to pick up an 88 TII on friday. I know nothing about turbos at all. The only vehicles I have ever even been in with a turbo are diesel trucks. I will have lots of questions for you, if you have the time to answer. BTW it's a strong running TII that I got for 1k

Welcome back!! The darkside is hard to resist Any questions or help you need ask up or PM me and I will help the best I can. What color is the new 7? BAsic things to do rite off the bat are: Oil changeand filter, coolant hoses, vaccum hoses, plugs and wires, as well a coolant flush would be a good idea.

Late notice for you but Zoom-Fest is next weekend at Road Atlanta. A bunch of rotor heads are gonna be there.

Dave

I am down for it! In the PMs you were talking about Mooresville.

Anyone else down for something tomorrow evening with Kent? He is coming all the way from Virginia and would hate for it to be like last time he drove down here...

Location doesn't matter. Whatever works for you guys. The last meet that I was at was at Lake Norman. Last O'Charleys meet.

Figure we will stay around there tomorrow night. Got a 7 to fix in Morganton and one in Winston-Salem this weekend. Travelling rotary mechanic.

I know it is last minute and during the week, so maybe many can't make it.

Kent, glad to hear you will be in the area. Unfortunatly being back to college is eating up all my time lately. I would love to see you while your down, but maybe we'll get to see you next time. As far as this months meet, I don't know what's going to happen. Seeing as how it is this weekend and no one has spoken up about what we should do, or where we should meet.

I have two, but I think both are hosed. One pumps okay, but doesn't hold pressure when you turn it off, so the system has to re-prime each time. I think the other is seized up. I can bring them and you can experiment with them if you want.

I have a few random 1st gen interior parts, clutch fans, etc. If someone needs something, let me know and I'll try to bring it (if I have it).

BTW: If you will have the SE with you, I will have my fuel pressure tester, timing light, etc. with me. We can poke around and check a couple things if you want.

well the SE is at my apartment complex which is like 3 or 4 miles from the o'charleys in mooresville. i tested the fuel pressure and it drops gradually as throttle is held then takes a long time to build back up (5 or 6 seconds with foot off the gas but running)

btw: if you have any red interior parts i could use a steering wheel, floor mats, defroster vent, shift boot and ****, rear carpet.

It should not drop. It should increase if anything. Should be at around 28psi or so at idle and increase to 37 psi at WOT. That behavior sounds like a clogged pickup tube or filter. Try to do a volume test. Remove the feed line in the engine bay and stick it in a gallon jug. Turn key on and prop open AFM door. Time for 1 minute. The jug should be about half full after 1 mintue. If it is sustantially less, time to look for a blockage.

Sorry. No red pieces. A few grey, but that is about it.

We can poke around your car if there is time. I don't mind.

Kent
