Talking Heya SE

Heya fellow southeastern 7club members. Just got my first FD and loving every second of it. It really is a dream come true for me as I've been wanting one for about 15 years, but never had the means to get one or could find one that wasn't ragged out. Well, all that changed as of last week so I will be looking forward to getting to know you all as I go through the motions of owning a FD. Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hey, so "hey".

Well, that is about 2 hours from my house right now, but if everything goes well in the next 30 days I will be moving closer to Kennesaw/Marietta area which should cut that 2 hours in half.

Welcome to the RX-7 world Dan. Where are you located now? Our next OGTA meeting, north of Atlanta, is Tuesday, April 6th. If your schedule allows, we would love to see your 3rd gen.

I'm jealous. Please do stop up in Suwanee one of these months so we can have a look at your new FD and meet it's lucky owner. What color? Pics?

Rome, GA and I might be able to make the meet, but I'm currently in the process of selling my house so there is a good chance I wont be able to.

I took some pics the other day and will try to upload them later tonight when i get home.

Looks totally bone stock, except for the wheels. You should do a couple of reliability mods.

If you live in Ga you MUST attend at least 1 OGTA meet. Tim and I come from NC . I attend a few each year. Actually thinking of bringing my FD to Aprils meet since my BD is the 4th.

Welcome to the FD world. It is a messy, torturous love affair.

Nice looking car Dan, those FD's sure are pretty

Be good to see you at the April meet Dave, you haven't been down in the FD in awhile. If Jeremy brings his FD and new guy Dan shows up in his red one, that would make three FD's, a new OGTA record, I believe.

lol... It is definitely bone stock. Installed a HKS Type 1 turbo timer, fan mod, and new radio last week. The past few days I've been disconnecting most of the engine to trying to install my new spark plug wires/plugs, and HKS downpipe. I also ordered my defi water temp and boost gauges today, but I know there is still a lot left for me to do...

Maintenance (Flush cooling system, Flush diff fluid, Drain & replace tranny fluid, Replace fuel filter, replace air filter, etc...)

In addition, I still have the following mandatory upgrades that I need to do:
(1) AST
(2) Radiator/Intercooler (v-mount setup seems the way to go since I'm not racing)
(3) Complete vacuum hose job including either samco or mishimuto cooling hoses (anyone want to help me with this one )
(4) Efini Y-Pipe
(5) DIY Adam C airbox mod
(6) DIY manual boost controller

Then its on to the fun stuff:
(0) Wide-band A/F gauge
(1) High-flow cat + cat-back exhaust
(2) Rims and tires (Those ugly rims came on the car when I bought it...)
(3) New front end + sleek headlights
(4) Paint job

etc... etc... etc...

So, it will definitely take me a while to get all this junk and I'm guessing that while I'm saving for these parts I should also be saving for a new engine just in case so it may take me even longer, but I WILL get there.. Oh yes, she will be mine.

Oh, the closing date on my house was just pushed back so if I can get my car back together in time I will definitely make it to the meet.

Thanks,
Dan

Looks like your list is taking it way beyond reliability mods. Looks like you are going for more HP. There is a fine line when you are doing major changes. You should come out to our meeting in whatever you have to drive, just to meet everyone.
