Oh yeah, I guess I didn't mention it here, but I found out from the previous owner that the GVR4 I have ran a best of 13.9, though I didn't get a timeslip, and he didn't say at what speed. This was on the stock 14b at ~15psi and a slipping clutch. So, I decided to keep it after all. Yeah, it's not as fast as George's or Dan's cars, but it's at least something to start with...

Plus, how many guys do you know that have a 4-cyl 4-door that can outrun a stock Stang or Camaro?

Ren
i knwo fo a metro that can runn really low twelves all day lon g

Well I finally got to make a couple WOT pulls with the new turbo setup and the results are in: ITS FASTER!! And this was only at 15psi, I normally run 18psi.

Oh to go at WOT again...

Enlightened by some recent information from my friends, I'm now in 'Engine Popping Prevention Mode' (aka EPPM ) and shifting at 3500 RPM's until I can come up with the money for a rebuild and streetport from Rotorsports (hook ups are welcome Brian )

I thought I smelled coolant...I just assumed it was coolant being evaporated from off of the engine from wherever the leak was. But Tony and Dan are right, it's coming from the exhaust, meaning it's coming from inside the engine, meaning my water seals are going/are bad. And I just ordered a new header...dangit. but Hey, it's an excuse to go ahead and get a port job while the engine's out anyways

Off to work....for the next month- Chris

Are you still planning on converting it to turbo Chris?

Here's your clock Chris, just come by sometime to swap out the old one for the new one. Has an alarm in it too If any of you guys want one, just send me a rotor and $20.

Dan,

I'd like one that moves the rotor around in the housing at 1 rotor rpm (3 e-shaft rpm), so it acts as a second hand, with the clock counterweighted and riding on roller bearings so it moves freely and stays facing the same direction relative to the horizon...

I know, but wouldn't it be cool? Especially for $20!!

Ren

Well after analyzing my datalog runs, i'm in need of some fuel upgrades or adjustments. I'm getting too high in duty cycle and i'm also worried my fuel pressure could be too low. So time to buy a fuel pressure gauge. I can try to stage my injectors differently to combat the duty cycle problem, worst case scenario is upgrading the primaries.

Hey Spanky (my nickname for my brother, for those of you who dont' know us), I was waitin on you to join in on this thread.

I'll bring my clock by next chance I get Dan, that thing looks great.

Dan, I'm not sure about going turbo....I'm thinking going all motor first (license plate: ALMTRRTR) and then when it's as beefy hp wise and as skinny weight wise as it'll go, I'll either hook up the N2O or the Turbo. Cuz all motor is alot more reliable, for now anywayz. I dont need the HP of turbo anywayz, I'm not ready for it.

I'm thinking about working my butt off for the next few weeks (I just got another $.50 raise, 7.75 an hour now [8.25 when I'm head cook ]) and buying like an 800 dollar mid-80's S-10 to get back and forth to school and work (and to tow car parts with) until I get the ReX back on the road (hopefully by the end of summer/beginning of Senior year) with a Stage 2 RotorSports rebuild w/ Streetport and my RB exhaust AND the much needed body/interior work.

If anybody knows of some cheap/reliable pickups/Blazers for sale, let me know.

ok, now after taking 45 mionutes to type all those message (you will see why in a minute) i have some real news to share.

i now have life long brass knuckles. sort of. my hand was healing from breaking it , but it got broke again today. had a starter dropped on it by my dad. heard the bones snap.

this time it pinched a nerve and they did "emergency" surgery on it at the local hospital. i now have 2 pins in my hand. one in the knuckles of my first two fingers.

it is the bone of the knuickle and the bone behind the knickle. but hte funny thing is that there is a plate between them holding the knickles in place. so i have a titanium knuckle.

wanna fight?

damn taht took a lonog time to type with one hand. hahahaha

Damn, George, I guess the typo gods are frowning on you, too...

Sorry to hear about your hand, man, that sucks. I guess the doc informed you that you are not to work on cars until it heals fully, right?

BTW, I FINALLY got the FSM's in. Man, those things are the ****! I thought $60 seemed a little high, but to have them in a binder, in the "large print" size, with color wiring diagrams, just rocks!

George, the one you are borrowing is for 87, right?

Ren
