Yup! I've been spending a few days now just making sure everything's supposed to be alright where its supposed to doing what its supposed to do :P
The battery's a piece o' magget eatin' crap but Erick Helped me out and we jump-started it. It starts alright - the 'macho' way lol but it starts.
I undestand it'll take a few miles for the engine to sit down comfortably since its a FRESH rebuild. That's not a problem.
What i DO have problems is the cooling. I just changed the fan clutch but it works the same way. no changes to how it was running. New fuel filter, new plugs, new wires.... here's the last I checked (bout 10 mins ago):
I will get it to start and keep itself "steady" if i keep the gas going at around 2500-3000rpm+
But just about 5-10 mins later the cooling problem starts. The radiator doesn't seem to keep up and it starts super overheating (although the temp gauge will read just fine). one out of 3 times the gauge will climb slowly and drop right up back to normal, but there is an obvious visible sign something's not right. The coolant will just heat up so damn much sometimes it'll blow the reservoir cover right off.
Here's what ive noticed on the car so far (that could help on having the car in such state):
-DEFINITELY needs an exhaust work done (exhaust leak visible)
-grounding. I did what u told me to do, Macho, but I didnt notice any change
-Emisions/wiring. Maybe something's been wired wrong (past owner=hackjob)
-Timing

There's no more smoke out of the exhaust but you CAN feel the fuel is not burning right. Fumes catch your eyes.

...phew.. so any ideas anyone? I vote for setting it on fire. what do ya'll think?

I believe the timing we set up untill the car runs as its supposed to the car wont keep itself idle by itself.

**I just read a troubleshooting guide that shows all my symptoms into doing a fresh rebuild... well I just did one. lol.

'Constant Violent Overheating (Coolant Gushing Out Of Overflow Bottle, High Temps, Car May Spew Clouds Of Steam)
This almost certainly indicates a failure of the coolant O-rings. Combustion gasses are being forced into the cooling system, over pressurizing it and causing coolant to be ejected as the gas bubbles force their way out of the system. Normally, the car will also emit clouds of sweet-smelling steam from the exhaust. The only cure is to rebuild the engine to replace the damaged seals'

Anyone ever had a similar problem?

Yeah this friday sounds too early to make a solid plan. I believe in a weekend or two we could b able to have everyone make plans/arangements if they wanna show up. As for the trip to wilmington, a solid date would let us, the ones still active to get time to request leave if needed (i know i will).

Ok, for the Grand Opening of Crystal Dragon Taekwondo, located on Piney Green Rd, across from Piney Green Tire and Auto, near Old US 30.

Saturday Sept 29th, 0900-1200

we are having "Kids 'n' Power" open house (i'm not personally sure what it is...)

Car/Motorcycle car wash fund raiser

Local Car and Motorcycle show

and of course, a Taekwondo Demostration

I want to see how many RX7s and other rotary powered autos we can get to show up...

ONE BILLION DOLLARS
cash and paypal accepted.

I totally just took the whole damn thing apart (well..most of it) and went step by step checking everything. funny...how small things make your life so damn miserable cuz u don't pay attention. well the radiator cap was jammed and the coil wouldnt move letting the gases expell. at least i believe that could have been the problem. i just ran it for about 20 mins straight and everything seemed to be alright... other than the fact that it wont keep an idle being a fresh rebuild (trust me, its hard to develop a good 100miles to get it steady on a car with no base decal, one seat and no seat belts. plus the neighboors are now complaining about the noise and smell of fumes all around midway park..

I MIGHT part out the car if i dont get to fix it in a good while. but im still not giving up.

hey man, be patient. after every rebuild, unless if you have done it 1000 times, it is most likely going to have a few problems you are going to have to work out. there is alot of wireing and hoses that need to go back to the same place in order for it to idle and work correctly. it is probably just a stupid problem that you havnt seen yet. try re-grounding it, i know that was a big problem you were having. cool down, in a few weeks it should be a nice running TII!

nope, im about to set the car on fire

now i have a huge electrical issue, my pfc commander wasn't powering up when turning the key, i swapped out my pfc back to the stock ecu, same issue... car didn't start and seemed like some things weren't getting power. i think i need to go to the store and just replace every single fuse in my car.

i even pulled off the ignition thing and scrubbed the lines with a wire brush, they weren't really bad to begin with.... still no joy.

so just when i get this POS rdy to roll start now i can't even get the electrical system kicking correctly. everything goes wrong at once and all before i go to cax.
