I would like to share my experience with u all. I placed an ad on Craigs List selling some FC after market parts location BROWARD COUNTY for $700. I got a respone from this email "DonSmith1005@gmail.com " instructing me that he is interested & that he would give me an extra $30 to hold the parts & that he would be putting the payment in the mail within a coulpe of days. He said that the payment would be a bank check of money order. I got a follow up email telling me that his assistance made a mistake by sending me mony that was intended for another purchase from another seller. within a week I got a express envelop containing 2 money gram checks each for $850. I sent him an email telling him that the money was here. He told me to deposit or cash them as soon ASAP and send the difference to some address in Albany GA, as they would be picking up the parts.

I started to become suspecious 2 money gram checks for the same amount both mode out to me & he wanted me to deposit/cash them ASAP and mail the difference to GA. Walmart sells & send money gram so I went to Walmart to have them cashed. The minute the teller look @ them it was obvious something was wrong so she called for conformation and was told these check was alresdy cashed & there was some security spots on rhe checks was already confirmed.

This is what they did, they purchased 2 checks for $850 a peice make a dam goog duplicate, then they cash the original & use the duplicate to make purchases. That's why they send 2 checks for more than the asking price when it was cashed or deposited they woukd get real cash & your account would be depited for $1700 & u get jacked.

The matter was turned of to the feds, local police & the US postal service for an investigation.

You should remove your address from your location and just leave it as cape coral lol, unless it is a business address.

 

This scam has been around since the internet started..... They use to do it when trying to sell a car....

 

I had my identity stolen In Iraq. And all my photos and information came up on dating sites. Scammers know no boundries.
