Another fire-hazard, Fixed.
So I started the RX7 up this morning wanting to change the oil after it warmed up, but I smelled fuel. So I shuter down and heared luquid drops hitting a hot surface. and saw the area where it was droping, (fire-wall side of the fuel rails.)
So...
I relieved fuel pressure, took intake piping off, took off a bunch of things on the intake manifold, like vaccum hoses, some electric connectors, the fuel hoses that connect to the uper fuel rail (that spilled fuel everywhere,so I wouldnt know where the original fuel leak was), 2 coolant hoses (that spilled coolant everywhere, I think some might have went into the intake ports when i was lifting the manifolds up)
I managed to keep the top and middel intake manifolds together. I lifted them up and out, and didnt see much of a problem below. But i noticed and remembered that I didnt change the fuel hose thats neer the fire-wall and I left the old clamp on that was connected to the fuel rail. So I changed that anyway with new clamps, then got ready to put it back together.
The intake gasket didnt come off very well it ripped in 2 places, I reused it and put some RTV in the places it ripped.
Then put everything back together (it seemed to go quicker than when I was taking it all apart)
Then primed the fuel system, then started her up. Got it warmed up and didnt smell or see any fuel or leaks. Took her out for a spin.
Im starting to take the RPMs up to 5 and 1/2 Thousand. She sounds beautiful. Im finaly starting to feel the power of this car.
Tomarow, need to change the oil, then ill continue my goal to finish the break-in. 200mi. to go.
Later.
