I probably would have had the engine and transmission installed this weekend if I hadn't gone to BSJ.

Well I hate to say it but I know one on here who just bought a silver 39k original Base model for 2k less. Has some basic bolt on's, SSR comp wheels, HKS CB, DEFi gauges..etc... He got a hell of a deal. Not that your car is not worth every bit of 18k but just letting you know what you are up against. My suggestion is hold out until you get your 18k, not a penny less. Otherwise unload it for 16k'ish if you want it gone!!!

Or you could always part out the aftermarket stuff and still get 16k for it plus the add ons.

In HDP's defense, the BSJ was pretty good this year.

I'm not hurting or anything but I might unload it for less. FDs really aren't going in the 18k to 20k range here in the south like they are out west and up north...that sux.

Quick stats...

Alabama has the 5th lowest median income in 2006.

Lower than Alabama are, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and West Virginia.

Just so you know, Median Household income in 2006 was $38,160 (AL).

AR - 37,458
LA - 37,472
MS - 34,343
WV - 38,029

If you really want to sell the FD, I suggest posting it on surrounding local car forums (TN and GA)... Or Ebay!

true.. Or you could keep it!!! I am sure the FD's have hit rock bottom and can only go up in value.. Nice thing is in 10 or so years the collectors and such will pass on cars like mine that are moded to the max and give you top dollar! I was just talking with Chad last night about how much I enjoyed my FD when it was running twins making around the 330rwhp mark like yours. Not to noisey, did not smell like gas always, had AC, could here my radio, could road race it or drag race it, etc.. It was more enjoyable to drive back then. Dont get me wrong, 500+rwhp is a blast

I think you go through this every year. Must have something to do with fooball on your mind!!! Hopefully it will pass before you unload a nice FD!

I agree with Mike! I say keep it!! There are many former FD owners on this forum who left and came back to FDs.. that should also say something about these cars.. Also, statistically, spring/summer is the best time to sell... even though I think fall/winter is the best time to drive these things. Drive it for next several months and sell it next year! Enjoy it!!

Alabama will never get lottery.. LOL! I guess TN isn't too far from Huntsville though.. If I win the lottery, I'm going to start buying all the FD's for sale on the forum (If I win at least $100MIL).

Isn't Mountain Brook like one of the richest places in the country? There must be lots of unemployed to skew the numbers that low.

Its median not mean. Super wealthy should not effect the median.

Of course Alabama is ranked 43rd 2005-2006, and 45th 2006-2007 in education..... Just kidding!! Its a common mistake people make when they think of median vs mean.. But its also true Alabama public education sucks!!

It's going to stay for sale until it sells. And by the way, I live about 20 minutes from the nearest place to play the TN lottery and I try to play every week. I win a lot more going to Tunica then I do at scratch-offs and powerball tickets but it's still fun.

well phil, you've got a good start at buying up all the 3rd gens. if i win the lottery, i'll buy another two or so of each generation.
recently i bought another toy... a '68 chevy 3/4 ton, definately not a fixer-upper. it's just a rust-bucket beater.

Hey, I'll be near that area this sunday (deals gap). Let me know if you want to meet up. Cell phone reception will be at minimum so we would need to work out a time and location. Also, Speed for Sale event is week after.. So you should come out to that.. that would be the next BIG gathering for locals and surrounding area.

Cool! Like the camo! Yeah, the wheels aren't my favorite on that duece... I'll probably stick with the factory 13inch rims and new tires.. My wife said OK on the paint job too!

Alright, this is for you Mike..... So I didn't go with as fancy of ride as a DB7 or Viper but I have tentatively purchased a 2001 Mustang Cobra convertible with a Vortech Supercharger, 42lb injectors, BBK headers, Flowmaster exhaust and a few other goodies, with a Dyno of 427rwhp. Only thing I gotta wait on is loan approval, which won't be a big deal. I still have my FD and it's still for sale but I may end up keeping it to. If someone makes me a decent enough offer I'll probably let it go. Just an update.
