Alabama 7s: H'ville to B'ham to Mobile
In most cases you will never get what you want for your car. That's why I research and make sure when I buy a vehicle, it's something I will want to commit to for a while. Shortest amount of time I have owned any vehicle is 11 years. I had got my money's worth out of it/them, so it wasn't a big deal to let it/them go for whatever I could get.
Owning cars for the long haul runs in my family... Dad still has his 1960 Austin Healey Bugeye (first car) and his 1963 Porshe 356 from college. And the FD is my "Porsche."
Getting money for the car isn't too hard... It's coming up with the extra $3-8k over the "book value" of the cars. That's why I went with a less than perfect car that needed work under the hood. I was able to finance more than the purchase price to get some of the parts to put it back together.

I hear ya Luke.. I had my 88 celica (first car I bought) for over 14 years and finally got rid of it because of my FD... I'm hoping to keep the FD (especially my blk 1st FD I bought) FOREVER!!!!
I guess I'm the odd man out. I go through cars and bike like hotcakes! I've had 6 motorcycles and 5 vehicles that I've gotten rid of not counting my FD, Cobra, Jeep and Sport Track that I currently have. The only thing I've kept for a long period of time is my 1955 Harley that my grandad gave me that I'm in the process of trying to restore <---I'll never get rid of it for any amount of money. My grandad taught me a lot about bikes and cars.
I plan to keep my "ricey" Celica until the wheels fall off again and put some new ones on it. Although once the FD is back on the road the Celica will replace it in the carport to finish it up and paint it. It's time to finish at least one project...
If thats the car I'm thinking of...
I don't know the owner but I think that FD is suppose to be one of a kind... It was forsale 3-4 years ago as 93 silver FD that was a demo car for Mazda Dealership. It has all the options available for FD at that time (dual coolers, sunroof, R1 lip, spoiler etc). I believe it also has the earliest production number. But don't quote me on this..

Ran up on a S281 mustang today on 565.. Dont know much about them but 15psi was all I needed. At first I was alittle worried as I just filled up on pump gas and swaped my maps to street map. But I still came out on top. Must say it looked nasty fast..

Fred,
The other blk FD might be Christopher's car.
There are 3-4 FDs in town that I've seen around but haven't met the owners..
By the way, DGRR 08 is a GO! check out the www.DealsGapRotaryRally.com

I good test for you Mike, as far as Mustangs are concerned, would probably be an 03-04 Cobra as they came from Ford with a supercharger already on there and some serious internals that with a little bit of tweaking can easily make 600rwhp. But the car still weighs like 4500lbs.
So I don't think you'll have too much a problem with any Mustang unless you creep up on one of the new SuperSnakes with like 725hp stock...that's just crazy.
one of the guys from work has a supercharged saleen that i plan to take out after my fd finds its way out of the carport. shouldn't be very hard since he can't drive well to start with. he got on it one day leaving work and spent a few minutes in the median after it turned around on him. lol
i guess you'll find out if the highest bid for the fd went through in a couple days, brad. i hope it does and doesn't at the same time. i think you'll regret it later, but there will always be a fd for sale somewhere.

Any of you guys in need of Feed Sides, Feed bumper, hood, RE Diffuser, etc???
I was told me Diffuser for my black car is finally ready and wanted to see if any of you wanted to split shipping with me thru Shine Auto. I also get a small discount with them.
Let me know asap if you are interested.. I could order it and you could pay me when it gets here....
