Anyone interested in a V mount intercooler?

We started on a prototype V mount yesterday and finished it up today. It uses a Greddy front mount with a Koyo radiator. The Koyo is setup exactly like the old Rotary Extreme kit. The kit will come with all the mounting hardware, Koyo, intercooler and piping. It will only work with the Greddy elbow and we can do piping for either single turbo or stock twins. The battery will need to be relocated to the rear. Price is probably around $1700.

I will post more pictures tonight.

Maaaybe... I'm spending too much damn money on this car already! haha

A couple comments:

- Will there be an option to have the piping go straight to the IC on the passenger side, instead of curving around where the airpump would be?
- It also seems like there are a couple unnecessary bends on the drivers side...

I am guessing the piping is shaped that way because the end tanks are unmodified from the FMIC configuration? Sorry, I'm not familiar with how it looks.

We will probably end up modifying the outlet on that side so it will be more of a straight shot to the elbow.

Im looking at doing a smaller core. The Greddy is a perfect fit but no room on the sides for a battery. Not even the dinky PC680

Thats something we will probably do in the future. Thats also the hardest part of these kits.

Good work, however I wish there was a smaller version still available. Like that of the smaller rotary extreme kit that used to be for sale.

Im looking for a core to do a smaller one. Once I find one it will only take me a day to modify it for the FD.

Yes I agree with the a smaller version. I'd like to keep the battery in the front. Plus different end tanks for less bends.

No duct is needed with this setup. The smaller core wont drop the price much since the Greddy front mount is very cheap.

Which intercooler is the 2 row or 3row? Right now i have the 3 row on my fd and thats exactly what i wanted to do. Would you sell just the rad and brakets if i wanted to use my own inter cooler?

Based on the price, it's most certainly the 2 row.

Any way you can make it fit with a Fluidyne? If so, how much w/o radiator?

i'd actually like to have just the brackets... since i already have a KOYO, and i could just reweld the outlet pipe.

like, i would seriously go on rx7store.net and buy the brackets right now if i could.

Why not use a something like a 22x12x4" Speaco core (like M2/PFS) with SMIC endtanks.

Or just take a shortcut and try to get the M2 cores from 2ndPerformance (http://www.2dperformance.com/intercooler.asp) and use that core for the kit.

Another option would be using the XSPower large (20x12x4") cores. Yes, theyre cheap knockoff stuff, but from my experience they do a HELL of a job. With a properly made duct, AITs will be insanly low. You can maybe have an option of cores to use either Spearco (or other good quality) or XSPower for the ones who want to get a Vmount but dont have the $$.

The brackets for our setup are welded onto the radiator. We have to weld another endtank onto the radiator for the other outlet. Its not an easy job getting the radiators to work.
