Yeah, had a 560~590bhp 1st gen RX7 for many years (about 200kg less weight and 160+bhp more) you realy notice the extra acceleration above 100mph.

Car will be nicer with another 80 to 100bhp and a little more weight out of it, I love it for what it is now.... just want to make it a bit better as chassis is more than capable.

 

You Aussies are crazy It's kinda funny to see you quote power levels in bhp versus rwhp. Do you have any other information (Internet URLs) on the Rx-7 SP model? I would like to learn more based on what you already know Keep up the great racing and one day when I go to Austrailia (which I WILL) I will come to visit you!

Also (I haven't bothered searching) do you have a website highlighting your workshop/business?

 

^ Yeah BHP is universal you can quantify it and make comparisons with other cars, we have a dynapack at my work and have good resources to figure the actual engine power after getting it at the hubs with a lot of repeatability + accuarcy. We also have engine dyno at university that I can and do use so it all helps in getting figures and figuring true relationships (chassis v's engine power)

I used to have a web page a while back but its in neglect, I realy toy around with cars now for fun but mainly sell apex seals to people in this part of the world + do some design, odd engine building, fabrication etc & tuning but its limited as its not my "bread and butter" (I do this to survive living LOL)... ^ You can see from the performance figures that my RICESP has much higher performance than the race spec version of the SP It was tested in a video called serious performance 3 and on G-Tech they recorded 13.2sec 0-400 time V's my 12.4 odd.

 

The powr the race cars had was 240kw (engine) I make 240rwkw through semi slicks on dd dyno which we use 1.3 as a multiplier = 312kw (or about 418bhp) which is pretty line ball with what PFS supercars were running with their race car back in the day when using the mazdaspeed developed IC and other bolt on's etc etc (pushing stock fuel pump, injectors, reg etc to its reliable limit)

TOP SPEED 300+kph est (stock Mazda with 255bhp does 262kph, mine with 410bhp has enough power & increased rev limit to do 307kph )
