Smile non-seq turbo FD on dyno

Went to a dynojet chassis dyno today. Put down 298 whp/257 wtq on 1st run. The other ones were less, I was def. having heat soaking issues with my intercooler. Running about 14 psi boost, w/ high flow cat & air pump, etc.

Anyway, check out the videos. I was only one of 2 import cars there that day (the other guy was an S2000). Tons of insane '03ish Cobras, couple new school GT500s, and a couple sick C6 vettes. The dyno place is a domestic car specialist (esp. with the cobras). RET (racer's edge tuning) in Downey, CA. It's a really nice shop.

Here's some vids:

My car, you can see the tach, boost, water temp, and some of the speedo. Power pulls were in 4th gear. Topped out a little over 150 mph.

The other cars, just some of them

Why is the power so low? Something must be restricted somewhere for you to make less than 300whp at 14psi, especially since you dont even have a stock cat.

Could be a lot of things, who knows. I think for those who run a cat you hit a point of diminishing returns after 12-13 psi anyway. I don't have hard data to back that up, but that's my gut feeling. I still think I have a slight ign problem, esp after looking at the dyno chart. Remember, I'm running conservative timing as well on 91 octane fuel. But the dyno is just a number, trap speeds generally don't lie. The car in its current state of tune ran the 1/4 at ~109 mph. It's run the 1/4 before at 112.

What does your car run mr. hp?

Oh: and AFRs are in the low 10's this was my 1st time on a dyno at that boost level where I had everything else squared away.

Not much more than yours, I wish it did but unfortunately no haha. I also got NS twins but I'm running 12psi. I made 330whp but it was on 93 octane and with a resonated midpipe, so not really much difference.

Haha, no worries, 30 hp is a big difference. Esp with 2 psi less boost. I think midpipes are the way to go, but I just can't deal with the gas smell... call me a wuss

-What AFR and timing are you running under boost (leading and trailing split)?
-Do you have your dyno plots posted somewhere, I would like to study them... I will post mine pretty soon here.
-Ever take your car to 1/4 mile track? If so, what did it run.
-What kind of dyno were you on?
-Did you keep your IC cool during the runs? I think that makes a huge difference. I actually saw my intake temps increasing during my last pull, I've never seen that happen before. Yikes.

In all truth I dont get what people are talking about with the gas smell, I never smell it and I've daily driven the car for years. I hated how loud the car was when the midpipe was straight but with the resonator its barely louder than when I had the stock cat in there.

The dyno sheet is around, God knows where though honestly. I do all the work to my car except for the tuning, I dont trust myself with that so I cant tell you all the AFRs and stuff like that because I honestly have no clue. I just do all the installs.

I've taken it to the track and on street tires it ran 12.8@112mph but that was before the resonated midpipe and tune. I'd expect slightly better than that but not much now.

My air temps, water temps, etc. were good throughout. I have a pretty large Greddy intercooler and a Koyo radiator w/ fan mod so I never have any cooling problems.

another vid & charts

Here's another vid of the first pull.

http://www.motorgen.com//vid/showphoto.php/photo/1146

Here's a couple of charts. These are UNCORRECTED and SMOOTHED, not quite apples to apples, but it is what it is. 1st is the best run last time. 2nd is all runs overlaid, you can see the heat soaking killing the power. I actually swapped in my old timing maps for the final two pulls, but the AITs were out of control so it's hard to tell if I got anything out of it, esp since the AFRs were going even more rich. 3rd is a comparison of when I tuned my car over 2 years ago with about 1.5 psi less boost. I spent a lot of time working on getting that fuel curve smooth. Was losing a bit of boost up top too, just like last time. The timing past 5000 rpm is retarded about 3-4 degrees on the max hp/tq most current one (forgot to change it back, was troubleshooting ign problems a few months ago), and I didn't check the condition of my plugs this time around, the dyno day was kind an impromptu kind of thing, I just up and went. The AFRs were way rich, I haven't fully cleaned up that part of my fuel map (14+psi). When I trim/clean up the fuel and set my timing back to the old setting, I think it'll be about 10-20 hp more, since that will bump up torque up top. Here's the pics, sorry they are kind of huge.
