Nice cars. I wish we had stuff like that in the U.S.

Don't see stuff like that on T.V. around here. Mostly NASCAR...

Wee I can make left hand turns! weeeee....... Race is more pit time determined then anything....

Ok... enough NASCAR bashing. .

Nice video.

There were numerous reasons why he understeered not once but twice into the bushes. That was pretty funny. He does however smoke an RX-8 in the same car in this video. Don't hate on FWD.

the only reason the civic won his because of Tsuchiya.
this guy beat everything and everybody especially on that course!!!
and he knows this course a lot .... if im not mistaken this is near where he used to live when he was younger.

Doubt it. Tsuchiya lost to an Re Amemiya FD3S on that same course when he was in a 600 hp R34 GTR.

Civics are very well balanced cars.

123 the rx8 is a lot better balanced than the civic.

Touge is all about the driver.

it certainly seemed like the civic had a ****-load more power than the 8 too... just look at the way the civic walked away in the straights... it seemed that the rx8 made up a little bit with braking and turn-in, but not nearly enough.

1) People give Tsuchiya a bit too much credit. Orido and Taniguchi are both fantastic drivers that are better than Tsuchiya IMO.

2) He doesn't always win.

3) Apparently, he considers his home course to be Usui, which is in the Gunma prefecture, but this course is in a cycling and sports park. I don't think living near a park that was most likely built well after his childhood would contribute to his knowledge of the course.
