Talking Found some cool old school pics!

Found some old photos of my Dad and the bike he set a land speed record on. The bike is a twin engine 1500cc Triumph, and the record set was 201MPH open frame on nitromethane. He also clocked an estimated speed of 225MPH with a fairing/aerodynamics attached, but it was never recorded due to the fact that he went off course. I guess this is where I got my need for speed from...

Nice, this might be a stupid question, but how do you link two engines into a single gearbox? What if one is making more power than the other?


Oh, and check out the rear tire, the top of the text for "Goodyear" is facing the center, I wonder when tire manufacturers switched the orientation of the text on their tires.

There is no transmission -- just a clutch and jack-shaft. The crankshafts of both engines were linked together with triple roller chain so if one engine made less power then it would set the pace for the other engine. But i guess that's where good tuning comes in handy

The bike is located in So Cal. And no this months cycle world features a different bike, although when i was looking into it i found this article
