Rtek missing harness plug?
Over a month ago or so (cant exactly recall) I bought a Rtek 1.8 N333 ecu (just the ecu itself, no palm pilot or ect). I been slowly gathering everything for my n.a-t build. Ok so i bough it and stored it away with a ton of other parts i been collecting.
After randomly thinking about it and talking to a friend he tells me there should be a plug sticking out to hook up the palm pilot. There is no plug or harness what so ever on this ecu. Just the regular pins for the stock 3 plug harness from the car. It has the sticker on the cover and a quick peek inside shows a rtek 1.8 chip. What am i missing or not? Do i need to find the person i bought it from and get a return orrrrr? Thanks, Nick

The RTEK 1.8 is not programmable so it has no extra wires to dangle from it!
The Rtek 2.0 or 2.1 is the unit that has the Dongle on it so you can plug in the Palm Pilot,Laptop,whatever..
Heh..I said Palm Pilot!..I feel dirty!

O wow i feel stupid now. So its just a chipped ecu that isnt tunable. I guess i will also need a s-afc then for the final tuning? Its going to be a s4 n.a-t stock s4 turbo, fmic, 720cc all around. I didnt want to just use a s-afc because you have no timing control which im most concerned about.

But doesnt the 1.8 retard the timing 1 degree for every 1psi of boost? Whenever i actually put it all together its going to be at 5psi and then 8psi tops in the future. Im not looking for gobs of power, i just want my car to be a little more peppy. If a 1.8 and s-afc isnt safe enough for a baby n.a-t then this is just retarded and im going to sell it all off -_- But i know many people have done it alone on a s-afc which isnt safe, i figure with the 1.8 added it should put me in my comfort zone. No?
