Has anyone actually maxed out the AFM with their Fuel Correction Maxed out and had lean issues?

I understand the AFM is/can be a restriction but how much effect does it have on HP/TQ (with or w/o AFM)?

See enough of the pre standalone era jap. tuner cars with the afm relocated between the I/C and TB. Anyone try that ? would probably help the spool but not sure about being able to tune out the difference(afm temp sensor would read much higher for one). I guess this would more apply to the S5 afm that could take being pressurized. thoughts?

the probelm with teh afm is not so much the restriction, but the accuracy. its pretty much maxed out at 300whp

realize that...which is probably why they all used additional injector controllers. Just wondering if anyone has put the afm in that location and how that works drivablility wise or the issues with that.

ok i know AFM to MAF conversion was mentioned earlier, but now im thinking it wouldnt be that difficult. it seems if you just need to know the density to convert to flow, which could be calculated from IAT and volume of the MAF opening. it would need an external voltage converter circuit that translates mass to volume using intake air temp sensor. but it should be linear curve, which would not be that difficult to implement, and I could even an scaling adjustment on it, so you can adjust for max flow. i suppose the question will be are people willing to go spend another $150-$200 on the MAF and circuit

Yes...unless you can get a stand alone for that price.
