V-gate shifter for turbo II tranny
I have found a picture and limited info on doing this.
Anyone have any info? I am going to pro shift my transmission, might have liberty faceplate it if I can afford it, and install a v-gate shifter and could use a little help.
Seems like a great budget way to avoid mis-shifts and shift faster. No way in hell can I afford a clutchless, that costs more than the whole car. lol
Thanks guys.

Although, if I can get together enough money, I might send it to them to have it faceplated.
You will still need to use the clutch. Just a tap though, and it will go into gear.
It also helps with high rpm shifting where the synchro would limit the trans.
The v-gate shifter changes the shift pattern to back in forth instead of an h-pattern.
So basically miss-shifts would be a thing of the past with this setup.

I have taken a look at one. Its a lot easier than one might think. If you have the skills and tools to do so...
The 3 linkages on the tranny that normally get pushed and pulled to switch gears need to be adapted to the V gate shifter. You can see them if you remove the tailshaft housing. It's a little more involved but that basics are, cut holes in the tailshaft housing to get access, weld on mounts for shifter. Attatch V-gate linkages to tranny linkages and adjust as needed to change gears.

I think it would be easier to replicate the Stillway shifter. You end up with the same idea as the v-gate without tearing into the case and internals of the box. I've been trying to buy one recently, but Stillway is apparently in the middle of bankruptcy and there are no more being produced and doesn't look good for future supply. They look to be pretty easy to replicate.

Yeah that's what I was thinking.
