Shoemaker Part 2
What is more impressive. A Big cubic inch v8 whatever running 6;s or a 1.3liter rotary?
Lock it up this case is closed!
i think there is too much sand being crated in this thread and its got into some vaginas , in the end fellas its no real biggie that enzo has decided to race a piston motor, at least hes drag racing still and not drifting
And to his credit hes still racing a rota in another chassis and double to his credit for what hes done with a irs stock chassis fc
.
I think it looks like we have mostly said our points and no one is going to change our own thoughts , so lets not get all sandy with each other and just call it a day
This is a rota section though so anyone talking up pistons is gonna get a heated response
but its all good fun to me i think ..

Well said. And at least he's still talking a Mazda engine.
The all mighty reliable piston motor...a 2JZ no less...

That and about 10 other all mighty 2JZ powered piston cars all blew up at MIR for Import vs Domestics this year, including the 2JZ pwred S2000. SO much for that reliability theory.
And the whole "I have a heavy foot" theory...please. We ain't goin for a sunday stroll down the drag strip.

Whats the excuse for the other 8 other all mighty Supras? My point was they break as much as any other car. Once your that fast, **** breaks. Plain and simple. And the rotary is cheaper to maintain than a piston engine any day.

You only need brand new parts if blow the motor by detonation. If your using Roans seals for instance, you'll warp prior to breaking, thus saving your irons and housings, making it very cheap to rebuild.

we know all the stories about stock motors with very impressive HP
we know motors built with all the best porting, pinning, new parts, etc with impressive HP
and we know of motors built with what was left after they swept the shop floor with impressive HP
thing in common- they all blow up
so is there a black and white, right and wrong answer as to what people should be building and racing?

The one with the pinning, new parts, clearanced correctly and the 2 piece shaft
And the most important part, a good tune.
Paul Major's Vette 6.74 @ 223 <~~~~~~ 7.0 litters 8 cylinder engine<~~~~ nothing new
La Otra 6.84 @ 201 <~~~~~ 1.3 litters rotary engine.<~~~ wow impressive
give me a brake man..Its a rotary forum news like this (enzo+pistons) are not taken lightly here.

1.3 litre rotary engine

i was looking forward to next year for a battle between timemachines and enzo racing but i guess not
i have love for all types of racing and engines, what impresses me most ofcourse is a rotary for lifeee! i have 4 2nd gen rx7s, yes im a hoarder
and i would never never never ever put a piston engine in my rotary chasis and go racing
. if you want to race a piston engine do it in a piston chasis. best of luck

Just because I'm not a rotary fan boy, it doesn't mean I don't like them. I still like the rotary, it's cool......... but I'm a car guy, I like them all... I don't discriminate

why are you arguing with a dedicated rotary drag racer in a dedicated rotary drag racing sub forum, on one of the worlds biggest and best rotary related internet forums
seems to me people get upset to hear someone sticking up for the rotary cause , we all know enzo is a rotary king and will always be, so even when enzo posts up some piston talk you gotta expect a bit of rota passion to evolve in this thread
CARN THE ROTAS
If you look into some of my threads you'll find me also taking about piston drag cars , if people decide to slap talk me back, then so be it, they have all right to around hear

dude you're the one that started the comparison to v8's. now to satisfy your argument, you have to place qualifiers on everything?
in your post you indicated you beat v8 piston race cars all day long. that is called a comparison. you are comparing your 12a to v8's. when you say "v8 piston race cars" that includes all forms of v8's including big and small block.
you can string a list of caveats a mile long to make it seem like your car and rotary's in general are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
