Running a 9second pass..........
AIN'T AS EASY AS EVERYONE THINKS! For all the keyboard warriors that would rather type in " YOu have 700+hp, running 9's should be a cake walk"......Go spend the money, build your car and run 9's. Till then, zip it! lol....
As you can see I went to the track again today. I got six passes in. Tried dialing in the suspension. Turned out I have to adjust the anti-lag for less rpm as well as make the rear softer. But I got alot of good seat time. Im spinning so bad in 1st, when I hit 2nd, the car hooks up and falls out of boost totally. I'll get there. It was about 95degrees out today, so my mph was a down a couple. Last pass I hit 146mph though. Average 1/8mph was 115mph..
My mph was all over the place in part due to me trying to shift at different points to see how the car reacted.
Here are the passes....

Good runs Ernie, and nice MPH, what 60 ft were you pulling? I saw you were bouncing off the rev limiter in first to get your speed up so you wouldnt land too low in your rpms in 2nd gear and bog down because you were spinning bad in first gear. Watch what your mph is when maxing out first gear and if you spin next time, keep in it until you reach that speed, then hit 2nd and you will land in your power band. But by next time, I know you will have your suspension worked out so it will hook and go!! Good luck

Once you hit the nines it will seem easy!
When the trannie gets in there you shouldnt be dropping boost in secound gear.
Good runs glad someone posted something after last weeks excitement!
Go Ernie!

No breakages right?
Are you using the stock trans or the g-force? What size/type tire?
Awesome job though. 10.04 is so close to 9's a slight wind at your tail could have got you there!

9s is cake, your just doing it with the wrong combo
J/K J/K, my hat goes off to you for your persistence!!! Good luck to you.
The car sounds great!!! Do you have some kind of way to launch at a lower boost, you are overpowering the tires badly!

I am just still amazed at what Ray has done with the car Ernie. You are getting much more consistant with your times. And at least you did not break anything. And Cecil Co. Dragstrip is such crap, I am surprised you got those times!
Keep it up, those 9's are right around the corner!

tru dat ernie !!!!!! took the car out last night for sum testing also, long story short got my best 60 ft 1.44 !!! but was a pain in the *** to drive due to the "clutch setup" ended w/ 10.69 @ 125 missing 4 th gear
I got all kinds of issues ............... need a ball bering turbo, or spray da bitch !!!!!! anyways great job on your setup !!!!!!! keep it up " "we" will be there soon.............................................. ..................

Wow,don't know much of suspension tuning at all. but the dynamics of it is what Im trying to learn better, and understand. The car looks (sounds) like a monster the power is there but as posted above, there momentum of your car between shifts is the problem. Is it crazy for me to say low nines, and w/ the power ^^ to maybe skate off an 8 sec. with further tuning to suspension???? Is that reasonable to say? That through a well set-up susp. will be able to cut up times like that? Anyways much props to you for dedication, time, and money spent on the sport.
good runs Ernie, you'll get there just takes trial and error....
I tried with drag radials friday night and seems I need to do a longer slower burnout
1.9 60' and then broke something clutch wise......

Congrats Ernie, you are consistent! Thanks for the updates and glad to see you are getting a lot of seat time. You must have been anxiouss looking at each slip before you actually knew what you ran lol !
lol i know that feeling!!! i ran 12 straight 10.02, and 10.03 passes. I still havent hit the number yet. Its like theres a brick wall there or something. haha. each 10.0 slip i get, the more pissed im getting. keep it up ernie
Almost there.........
Your 9 sec pass will happen as soon as you take care of your 1st gear drama.
You're overpowering your tires, hitting the rev limiter instantly and simply making no ground or speed, therefore going into 2nd early and landing too low in engine rpm/powerband. Staying on the rev limiter longer will not help, you're already doing that loosing too much time.
Check your logs and see what mph when banging 2nd gear and what is the rev limiter set at (1st gear)?
What diff gears are you using?
What pressure are you running on the ET streets?
You need to lower your power in 1st gear because right now it's useless...you need it to get you up to speed so when you hit second you will be on your powerband and not fall on its face.
Try a few runs at lower boost or no anti-lag to get a good 1st gear launch with less drama and see if you pick up mph when going into 2nd gear.
I bigger tire should also help, but remember if they also spin on launch then you're back with same dilemna......common with turbo engines.]'
Good Luck

From the video I can see that you have a major problem in 1st-2nd gear, it seems like the car is leaving way too hard, loosing traction then falling off of boost when shifting to 2nd. Try not to use the 2 step anymore and use nitrous instead for a smoother, more consistent and predictable launch. As soon as you launch the car and the clutch is released, hit the nitrous to keep you moving forward so that you don't bog, keeping the turbo spooled and making up distance at the same time. The nitrous will also get rid of the lag in between shifts. Set this all up within in the ECU so you can just floor and forget about it if possible. Start with a 75 shot and go up in increments slowly if need be, due to the size of your turbo you might need more nitrous but start there as a base. This had worked and it's still working for all of the people that I know of using a HUGE turbos in an independent rear suspension type of car using a 10-10.5 inch wide slick that are going single digits. Just my 2cents which aren't much, but I know this from all the of people I've been around import drag racing that have gone single digits with similar setups to yours, just trying to help.

The final drive is a stock 4.10 Tire pressure went from 15 down to 13.5. I am ordering the 11.5 et street tomorrow. I found the anti lag comes up 10times faster than when I was using it with the Tec3. Im going to soften the rear, use the wider tires, and get off the antilag sooner and see how it goes.

Traction Control is an option after he gets things straight. I personally know that AEM 1800 box can run TC and have done it. It feels slower but I use it as an aid to get out of 1st gear.
