Question MSD Digital launch control

I would like to know if anyone had luck with running either the Digital SCI 6350 or the Digital 6 plus boes with the 2 step option. They both have an option of connecting the blue wire to a 12v switched supply and the 2 step is suppose to activate to the desired rpm setting on the side of the box. I've tried different ways of getting it activate and it does not work, I contacted MSD tech and this is what he had to say.

"The two step will work on a rotary, to a point. Realize that the two step looks at the rotary engine as a three cylinder and there is no switch setting for a three cylinder. So you would have to pick a setting and then adjust the rev. limit accordingly to allow it to limit at the desired rpm."

Any tips or help would be appreciated.

Msd is full of ****, it works perfectly. Make sure though, some of the boxes require 12V to activate and some require a ground. I had that situation on my car (DIS4 & Digital6) once it's setup it works perfectly. If you are running waste spark you will have to divide the RPM by 2 for the leading box IIRC. Just try the limiter one box at a time (disconnect the other) at a low rev to verify that it works.

I'm going to ground the box and give it another shot. I have my 12v supply off of my line loc switch, I'll run it directly off te battery and see what happens. I'm only running one digital box for the leading coils at this time, which are TII coils. If I get this blue wire hook up to work, then I'm going to upgrade with 4 HVC II's and another digital box perhaps the Dis-2 for trailing. Should I leave it dailed at the 4cyl option?....Thanks Allen

Stock ignitor, I'm using the stock harness with the Apexi PFC. OK so before I did anything I thought and thought and remembered hearing somewhere that the trailing coils get a constant fire, so I disconnected the trailing coils and started the car , warmed her up. I then set the rev limiter at 5500 at the msd dial on the side of the box, I hit the line lock switch and gunned it. It worked perfectly with the trailing coils disconnected, cause the msd is only firing the leading. Now I need to figure out how I can tie in a relay in line with the same switch so that when the line lock switch is off I get fire to leading and trailing , and when I hit the switch the line loc, 2 step is on and the trailing coils get no fire.

Got it!.. I wired in the relay and tested everything out. All worked out great. Thanks Allen for your help.

vid will be coming soon. I already almost melted my wifes front bumper to her GS300. I laughed so hard at the look on her face.
