Angry If You liKE Nitrous Help Me Out.

While my 9 inch rear is getting parts collected together, and the mounting points are getting welded togther, and part for the diff start to come in finally, I wanted to run my car with everything she has...

She is still yet to see a full 1/4 mile pass on this motor, only due to all my medical issues, time, school, work, and mainly money.

But now that i have a good portion of that under control, my medical is un control, and my finacial situation is starting to see the light, i wanted to see what she can do under some load with nitrous.

With the april 23rd event coming up, i wanted to buy NX nitrous kit that comes pretty much with everything i need to just bolt the ****** up in my car, and just run it.

But i have never ran nitrous. I wanted to start slow, and low with a 50-75 shot and go from there...I threw in 95 kia sportage diff with welded spiders. Last year at fonatan on sept 4th I snapped an axle at the stage light when it turned green lol...

She is up and running again...Two weeks prior to that date she was at TNT in barona running hard and strong pulling some nice numbers...

But now i just want to see what she can do all motor with some go go juice...

Can anybody here suggest and help me out with some pictures and what not, do's and don'ts..

thanks teddy

Well I was rather unsucessful on my experience with nitrous on a rotary. But what it taught me was, make sure the motor is running tip top before ever hitting it with nitrous. If its not as fast on the motor as "it should be". dont even bother putting juice through it. And second, lol, check that the thing is getting enough fuel. Check all your filters, and make sure they are "real" filters. Not little ones that plug as soon as the tiniest bit of **** gets in there.
Oh and I had tried 20 degrees timing on a 100 shot, but on the dyno it liked 15 degrees. I dont know if that was fuel related or what, but just sayin.
I will be trying nitrous again on my Pport motor, but intend to get the "results" out of the motor first, before I ever even think of hittin her with the switch.

Heres' a good read.

On top of that I would recommend locking the distributor and set a conservative timing and use the " wet" system and activate the NOS with a full throttle switch. Oh, and I woulnd recommend carbon apex seals as one little mistake and they are toast.

for running nos wet system i would recomend running a 2nd fuel pump for nos solinoid (holley red 7 pounds) constent. and when jetting get jets based off fuel pressure base. i also retard my timming 3 degrees per 50 shot.

I think the biggest mistake most people make is they just think they can throw a bottle on the car and run without knowing how to tune their own carb/fuel injection system. It's alot more than just back off timing and make sure you have enough fuel. If you cannot tune your own engine well, then I recomend either don't put nitrous on your car or have someone who knows how to tune and tune and setup for nitrous do it for you. If not then you are going to have an expensive lesson.

I dont claim to know crap about nos and rotary motors but threw trial and alot of error i found that running a non ported intake but a ported exhaust kept the over lap from causing detonation.
I ran an n/a motor for two years with 85 shot and never had any problems and i think i could have ran alot more but went with the 93 fd and lost interest.
When i ported the n/a motor and built it up stronger it sounded like a chain in a drum. It took out an apex seal, but off the juice it ran great but when i flipped the switch it rattled like hell.
Also i found locating the nozzels low and close to the intake ports helped keep down blowing the intake manifold apart.

There should be some real experts on this site.
