Which Jerico box is it?
What's the clutch/flywheel setup?
Ran this weekend and exploded the jerico gearbox on the 1st run.Input drive gear is in many pieces, that is 3 times now.It let go at 9000rpm in 2nd gear.
Gearbox is a clutchless 4 speed, jerico say it is only rated to 750 bhp.
Are the 5 speed boxes stronger?
Using a Mcleod clutch,with slippage.Need a stronger gearbox.

Isn't the 4 speed just a beefed up toploader?

I know their 5 speed is not based off a production box and it is MUCH stronger.

Allen, They run about 1900 list price.
The flywheel is steel and i believe it's around 30lbs or so.

You have other options as well.. Allen your running a 7.25" tilton correct?
You can run there rally style clutch which offers a bit easier hit or you can get the carbon/carbon clutch which is probably the best way to go... Quarter Master also have some good 7.25" options and the bolt pattern is exactly the same as tilton's.

Sorry to hear... Sell your Jericho setup and get yourself a gforce or liberty box.
Also get a 5speed you'll be much happier..

WOW, no wonder mine revs so fast comparatively. My flywheel is only 11 lb. I knew the N/A guys were running heavy flywheels but i didn't know the turbo guys were as well. I wonder if it gets to the point where i need it if i can get a heavy flywheel for the Tilton clutch.

Yeah, it's a Tilton 7.25. Maybe the only saving grace is that the trans i have is the torque tube version?

i have several friends running the jerico with great results.(they make alot more power too) i spoke with scott at jerico and he agrees there is a problem possibly with the alignment of the bellhousing.
have you checked your bellhousing alignment? if its out 3 thou. it will cause the damage your having..is your trans rubber mounted or solid mounted?
give him a call back and give him all the details he needs and he will help you fix the problem.
get this beast fixed as i wanna see what this thing will do in the quarter badly!

With a 1.2 a/r turbine housing.
The jerico is mounted on a rubber block on the rear, engine is solid mounted with a bar to stop it tilting back.Alignment is something we should check, but it appears the box just can't hold the power.

See that's why I told you to never take Tuesdays off. I can't believe you missed out on the drivetrain lessons!
I think you need a refresher course and to think you were ready for the advanced lessons!

The 9.0 at 151 not sure but the previous best of 9.3 at 147 was at 1.5 bar measuring 589rwhp on dyno dynamics dyno.
The 9.0 at 151 was at 1.8 bar not dyno'd at this boost, but I estimate approx 650rwhp.

We made 589rwhp at 1.4 bar on the dyno, using an FD gearbox.Would have run more boost but it appears the injectors were at max,4 1000cc ones.
440ft/lb torque at the wheels.
When I get the dyno graph I'll post it up.
I have never experienced so much noise in a confined space, totally awesome, the ground was shaking!
Engine survived, and is as strong as ever.Think we have bent the crown wheel in the diff,it has tight spots in it.

SOmeone was using a rx8 tranny for this...

With massive power wouldnt a longer gearing be more desirable? not the shorter 6 speed?

Here is the dyno sheet. Not given full throttle until 7000rpm.Notice how the boost drops,it never does this on the track.Your comments please.

Hi Tim,
The resone this may be happening is because on the track you have a lot more air going to the intercooler keeping the air coming out of the intercooler (intake)more dense but on the Dyno the intercooler may not be kept as cool there for the intake may not be as dense causing a pressure drop. I have also noticed that my EGT are about 50 degrees C hotter on the track than on the dyno.

when I think about it the opposite would be true as the air is more dense on the track because of the extra air outside which would cause a temperature reduction from the intercooler and then there would be reduction in boost so maybe the blowers on the DYNO are keeping the intercooler to cool (I doubt that but who knows?)
