9.005 @ 151 mph IRS FD from the UK

Not my car of course but Chris Impeys Green FD
Following on from last years thread
https://www.rx7club.com/rotary-drag-racing-167/9-61-%40-147-mph-fd-uk-704856/

Chris has improved massively just missing out on a 8 second time slip
He backed up this time with a following 9.04 time.
He now runs a Jericho box

Not yet. You still got some time left!

PS. There's a reason why everyone as of sometime place the oil and coolant recovery tanks in the hatch/trunk area. It can prevent a very dangerous situation.

The pics are from the weekend before, when the bottom of the jerico gearbox blew off.Exploded the input drive gear, for the second time! It is hard to believe a box purpose built for drag racing can be so fragile. It is the weakest part of the car.

Chris made the wing himself, aluminium sheet riveted together.

That's a Jerico for you!
Jerico's are good for NA applications and road racing!
Which Jerico box is it?
What's the clutch/flywheel setup?

yep that is quicker the UK Dragons 9.1 time, no idea on weight Tim might know, it is fully stripped out with Lexan instead of glass.

those transmissions work great when used properly. by this i mean the clutch has to be a slipper type so the trans dosnt get shocked so hard. i know guys that have broke g-force trannys too from running a non slipper type clutch.
your car is running great, nice numbers!

And often overlooked...

A hard hitting clutch is bad for most tranny's.. This is why most use mcleod clutches.

I think Tim last told me the weight is about 1100kg 2425lbs but this was some time ago since then I know more bit's were removed/replaced to save weight.
I think it's probably about 1100kg 2425lbs inc driver.
Best part is this is only at 1.75 bar boost.

Huge J port seems to doing the trick. They should be running 2 bar this weekend.
I think traction at track will be bad though, we shall.
Two cars are gunning for 8's this weekend. Hopefully I can fix my camcorder in time, if so will post some good action Sunday or Monday.
