Personally I voiced my opinion that they should run the cars in the stock configuration ie fwd, rwd, or awd. and they should run the same type engine as stock ie I4, I6, V6, V8, V12, flat 4, flat6. I also think the same should hold true for domestics.

Also it should be across racing in general. But can you seen NASCAR racing fwd V6's around the high bank ovals at 135mph when they were doing 200 the year before with the 355's under the hoods.

Ever hear of Busch Grand National?

It was just like Winston Cup except they used buzzbomb 4.5l max V6s. Those things could still haul ***. (500+hp) Later, to keep costs down from having to develop two types of engines, they reverted it to 355ci max engines with a compression ratio cap. (Do they still even RUN the BGN series?)

I had chance to take an up close and personal look at one of Alan Kulwicki's cars at an auto show (after his unfortunate death). I was kinda amazed that the car appeared to have been built from a factory body-on-white. I thought they'd stopped doing that in the late 80's...

personally I think they should have a class RWD\AWD and FWD. Forget anything else. Most FWD cars are slow, if a RWD\AWD car is slow, well....Too bad it should have been made FWD.

Its great having an RX7, everytime I go to sears point they ask me what class I want to run in.
they can't make it that simple cuz of all the different chassis and engine combinations out there. a 4cyl. will never be able to compete w/ a 8cyl., unless you give the 8cyl. over a thousand lb. weight disadvantage and that'll never happen cuz making a car that heavy will take a toll on driveline parts. there are also so many different chassis types from unibody, backhalf, full tube frame, etc. that they all can't compete in the same class. it's like combining all the weight classes in boxing and thinking it'll still be a fair fight. i agree w/ peejay, to hell w/ the v8s. only the richest teams can afford to be competitive in that class. it's getting away from what this series was all about.
