I could run stock corner seals, but I've heard horror stories of the rubber piece droping in to the bridge and getting sucked back in to the engine...

Then don't use the rubber piece!
I won't even use the rubber piece with a good street port!

What are opinions on using atkins solid 2mm corner seal or FD corner seals without the rubber piece?
My engine is almost ready to be re-assembled and I'm not sure which seal to use
thanks
