what will be considered low boost ?

at the track motorcycle racers with turbos always say that was on low boost 10 psi or less or i let off at 1000 feet. but ran low 8s at 180mph. not everyone says the same thing but it is very common. now i hear it on the street from car guys.why can't they tell the truth ? lol

Low boost is what you used to run until you realized a higher boost was safe. Boost controllers only go one way.

Low boost is lower than high boost, simple. "Low boost" could be 40 psi, who knows? Its whatever the owner wants.

You seem baffled at people bluffing their times/potential times. Its called holding your cards close to your chest, not letting the cat out of the bag, you know...usually more so when money is involved. Or maybe just pride/bragging rights.

Many people are always on low boost, let off, missed a gear, or their car is not running right..... and on and on. I dont think it has much to do with trying to lock up a race for money as you would want any observers to think your car or bike was slower than it was. More of a pride thing I would guess.
