That 533rwhp figure, as best as I understand it, is also based on a re-calculation going from one dyno type to another. That gross percentage re-calculation could be way off. In my opinion, you may want to consider posting the actual figures along with the type of dyno it was performed on.

@ first I thought the same w/ the dyno #'s, but the track don't lie. I would say that lupe's car is making about 540 rwhp. I think it should be more being that it's an FD, but the sum bitch do MOVE out.

Steve Kan flew up here to Canada to tune some of our cars last year.
He did some haltech cars, a Wolf3D, a couple of PFC's.
He is a very experienced tuner, nice guy, and does his best to make sure you are happy with your car. He tells you what he is doing, so you can learn. He's good at troubleshooting problems, and will help you fix issues that may occur during tuning.
My only gripe, and it is a really small one, is that we expected him to work some 'timing magic', since that is where that little bit of extra power comes from, and what can help spool-up (at least from my limited knowledge).
He didn't really do that, instead using his standard, safe streeport map that, by his own admission, he uses on a lot of cars.
Now, maybe if we had asked for an aggressive tune, he might have individualized the timing map? Only Steve kan answer that . I know a few people where a bit dissapointed at this lack of 'customized' tuning, but he also had to do 7 cars that day.
In the end the cars made nice power and run well. So no one is really complaining.
I paid CDN$400 for his tuning. It was money well spent.

I should be actually trapping around 106mph through the 1/8 if I could drive.

This has already been covered. My car put down 455rwhp on a dyno dynamics dyno. Do you think that 455rwhp translates to a 105 mph 1/8 mile (Which should be 135-136 1/4 mph traps)? Not going to happen.

As far as the power figures go, the power figures seem pretty close to the 1/8mi times you're putting out.

I don't think I'd have any problems with them. I'm definitely not a new guy and I've certainly been around the block plenty of times.

My dyno numbers don't mean much to me, putting up big mph does.

Get a trailer, take Friday and Monday off and save yourself the hassle of pulling the engine again...

BDC,
No use arguing with LUPE. He is very opinionated as you can tell in his threads. Besides the people that know of you know you are a good tuner and builder.
now back to the topic...
I think Steve is a good tuner also. I think anyone that get their cars tuned by either of you would be in great hands. As for RX7store tuning, I'm skeptical as to their abilities. I loaded up my maps in a thread in the PFC section and Chuck the mod thought they were crap with too much timing advance and looked like it was setup for a car with diferent mods than mine. Also search for Venom2u's feedback on their tuning in the Single Turbo section. I'm sure there are other tuners that are not referred to on these boards that can do a good job on specific systems.

I have an egt gauge. All I can gather is I got the safe tune. Pretty standard timing from what I can gather. (Extremely limited knowledge!) Can't recall if he even looked at the egt gauge.
Car was tuned more or less in two or three dyno runs. The rest of the time was trying to figure out why the car would lag so bad for a 60-1 turbo. (It apears to be fixed now, 15psi by 4500rpm)
At idle I have 9° and -1°. Cruise I'm more likely around 32° and 27°. Funny how people can be so different in those area's. At boost I'm at the Typical down to 14° at 15psi.
Nothing funky in timing around peak torque etc.
I've compared all of the maps I could get my hands on and everyone is different. Some seem even dangerous........
What is the difference in cruising at 32° rather then at 38?
Wish I could get my hands on more ignition maps for the haltech.
