Vacuum through catch can?

I've got a stage 3 BNR turbo and it smokes a tiny bit during idle, so I talked to the BNR guy. He told me to run a vacuum line from the TID to 2 crankcase nipples (oil filler and on intermediate plate). He told me I can run those 2 crankcase vacuum lines into one side of my catch can, then the other side of the catch can to the TID. I was just thinking the catch can has a breater on top of it, so how can it hold the vacuum?

I was just looking at it and I can just remove the breather and put a cap on the opening.
