Dunno if this is the right place to ask this, but is anybody familiar with modifying the synchro teeth on a STOCK tranny to convert it to a clutchless trans, or is the stock stuff too weak for that?

I'm thinking if some of the teeth were ground out and the rest welded-up so that there were only six or so HUGE teeth with the right bevel to them (15deg bevel?) then it would be basically a pro-shifted tranny, but I don't know if that'd work or not. I'm willing to sacrifice a tranny as an experiment, and have the machining/welding abilities to do it...
