Street vs Bridge
My boy has a street ported six port with micro-tech FI, pushing a 1961 Manx Dune Buggy. That weighs in at 1400 pounds with him in it. It has a tube chasis and sits on 20's. This bitch is BAD! Sat night he ate 2 bridge ported engines one was in a 1st gen the other was in a suzuki samurai. Both were on slicks and the samurai weighed the same as my boys. My boy was running on street tires and was rolling off the line, then punching it and he was getting low 8's. This bitch will lift the front tires while sitting on 20" street tires! This engine puts 226 hp to the ground! ALL MOTOR . . .

the key is not in the motor.... the key is that the car weighs close 1000lbs less than the first gen!! the samurai, however.... some guy runs one of those samurai/ rotary contraptions at Cecil in MD... he can never get it to hook up, gets it over 100 MPH, but his times are in the 14's.. i think its cause of the suspension in that fau-4wd POS.
I'd like to see pics of this Manx with a rotary, that would be pretty cool!!

I just got a hold of a 13bt that I put in my vert, I'm rebuilding my s4 6port with my buddy for his volkswagon bug. Car weighs in at 1340lbs , fiberglass widebody fenders. It kills any late model fbody with the built volk engine, has about 130hp at the flywheel. We're streetporting it and putting dual delltori 48 carbs.

It looks alot better in person ! ! !
I should have some real pics of it in Oct. Their is a Import event at Lakeland Drag Strip Oct 3rd and I will be there with him with my camera ready. Should have some nice wheely pics ! ! !
He built a tube frame for it and shortened it 14"! He installed fiberglass floor boards, which they usually have metal floor boards. He will have new rims with slicks and will reduce it another couple hundred pounds, with wheely bars!

Iam not sure of the name of the trans, but he paid big bucks to have it made. Some guy out of Cali made it for him after he broke a couple. He paid extra to make sure it will handle the power. This is his 3rd engine the first 2 were VW engines that didnt have the power he wanted! He had Mazsport out of Tampa Bay, build the engine for him. It is only street ported with the stand alone Micro-Tech FI, really nice engine ! ! !

That buggy is really cool looking! I can't wait to hear how it does when it's even lighter! And the next set of pictures will be interesting to see as well.

So you guys can hear it, it has a really nice exhaust ! ! ! it come out of the headers towards the front of the car goes into a SS muffler under the drivers seat then bends a U back towards the back of the car, goes through another SS muffler then straight out of the back of the car right next to the engine. Sharp real sharp and the sound is truly impressive ! ! !
