They work well (as a resonator) but they break up. Behind *any* engine.

You know I've always wanted to experiment with something like this in a turbo charged car. I don't think it would work if put before the throttle body butterflies (would break up the vortex) but what about after the throttle body? Those smaller inserts look like the perfect size to install in the LIM to swirl the air before it mixes with the fuel. Anyone think this would work?

Edit: If this proves to flow more air, one could install this item in the secondary port of the LIM of the front rotor in the Fd to improve air flow since the rear secondary port flows more air.

Ummm, remember the Tornado? None of these gimmicks work. You cannot make air flow faster by putting something passive in it's path period.

It doesn't make the air flow faster, it swirls it around.

I think it basically does the same thing as Vortex engines... except that it doesn't violate the patent on Vortex engines in order to acheive the same effect.

Whether or not this would actually do what they promise (hehe, "0 to 35 HP"... I'm thinking closer to the 0 side.) is the question.

Ps, I already made a thread about this subject...

JUNK!

Studies show a 0% gain in any area of engine performance (power, gas mileage etc show NO change). This is snake oil people.... same POS as the Tornado and SEVERAL independant studies and dynos showed NO gain. Save your money for something else.

I'd be really pissed if one of those blades broke off and got sucked into my engine.

I guess then you could get a 70-dollar rebuild!

I saw "spiral max" and thought it was one of those twister mufflers. Sorry for the confusion.

they do work, but only very slightly. around a 1% gain in MPG, half that in power. for 70 bucks, hell no. for 5, maybe. what it does is atomizes the fuel better by creating a 'spiral' in the intake...menaing that it is slightly higher velocity. probably also heats it up a bit. the vortex effect just barely makes up for the restriction in the intake, so it adds up to almost zero.

No one will know anything unless this product is put in the proper location and tested on a flow bench. I may be doing some experimenting with this in the near future.
