Shift too fast... Fall on face!?!?
Just spent a day drag racing. When I shifted fast, the car would fall on its face in the next gear. The longer I waited between gears, the stronger the pull would be. It really defeated the purpose, if you know what I mean... I would think the Haltech would be able to collect itself a little better than that. Any ideas?
I realized afterwards that my timing was 5 degrees retarded from another issue I was playing with. Maybe? Would that also cause the throttle response to decrease?

How Much boost are you running?
You are probably getting low boost at the beginning of each gear.
The 3' exhaust may be slowing the turbo from spooling with that 1.15 AR.
Here are some choices in order of my preference:
1) Run a bigger exhaust
Or 2) Get one of those 'Y' pipes that you can uncap when you go to the track and make sure it is not to far from the Turbo.
Or 3) Run a smaller AR ratio.

I'm running 15 psi.
Exhaust dosen't get much bigger. If I unbolted the downpipe and dropped in a tennis ball it would roll out the tailpipe.
Its a problem with either compressor surge, or with the fuel and timing maps I think.

15PSI too little for that turbo.
3" is not big, but may be good for 15PSI.
That turbo you have runs much better at 15 x2 =30PSI.
If you have big ports and wanted to shine, just turn up the boost and open up the exhaust and with the right tuning unleash the beast.

13B-rew is the motor in 3rd gens. 13BT is the motor in turbo second gens, like I have. the REW can handle a couple hundred HP more...

The most important question that nobody has asked.....Do you have a lightweight flywheel?? If so, there's your problem. They drop the rev's and drop boost between shifts. They are not meant for drag racing.

I have the stock transmission and gears. Stock flywheel. The problem is not that I fall out of boost, it is that when I shift too fast the car will NOT accelerate in the next gear. I push on the pedal and the motor just starts fighting itself. The only cure is to wait a second in neutral during the shift. I thought it might be a MAP sensor thing, or maybe a surge somewhere in my 7 feet of IC piping...

Well yeah it runs rich, but thats the nature of the beast... It revs fast in neutral, especially after I played with the throttle pump map. As soon as I have everything mechanically how I want it I am going to have it re-tuned, for now I'm just messing with it trying to learn the system.
