SFI. legal bellhousings for Mazda!
I know some time back a couple of people were looking for a SFI. legal bellhousing for the Mazda rotary motor.
These guys have one that use the factory starter and everything needed to do the conversion.

Very nice piece, too bad I'm gonna go auto sometime soon, and I won't have a need for this, BUT for the manual tranny this is a great piece.

ever see a "import" with a Powerslush (2-speed!) transmission carry the front wheels to the 330' mark?

back to the bellhousings though... the site is either not loading properly for me or it's just not complete. Mainly want to know if their bellhousings are only for the Mazda transmissions *or* if they are made to adapt a standard Chevy trans bolt pattern trans to a rotary.
THAT would be sweet... practically all of the "good" manual transmissions are made for Chevy bolt pattern.

I would love to put a TH350 or TH400 with a 6000RPM stall on my Rex
(I dislike powerglides- only 2 speed- sucks for street driving)
But I've yet to see a advertised adapter
The real expensive part is the custom converter needed

There is a commercially available setup... found it here a month or so ago. I believe it was $900. The same company also sells adapters for Nissan L-series and RB-series engines amongst other imports.

I would like to run an th-350 auto in my Corolla.......but I'm not willing to give up my overdrive and run a high(5000rpm) stall torque converter.
Pac Performance has a few auto rotary videos.

Heh. I just got to see a bunch of PAC cars last weekend at the Jambo. Nothing sexier than a car with a 10 second reaction time because it sat and sat and sat waiting for boost to come up off the line.

there was an rx3 coupe at the jambo that was running a Jatco rx2 3speed auto... (pretty sure he still has it in there) - its behind a 20b and running 9.2's. It took a bit of work to beef it up but they are very similar to the late eighties Jatco's, making it much easier. The car had the plates "rapid", owned & driven by Ben Siedel - it is the ex Maztech (anthony rodrigues) rx3.
Oh yeah - I spend the preceding week and some of the Jambo hanging out with Tim (ex RPM owner). We were watching that car really closely. Kudos to Ben on making some awesome passes and doing some KILLER wheelstands!
