Rx7 Breaks Lap record - Sandown (OZ)

Rohan Ambrose from Guru Racing set a new lap record on his way to a clean sweep of the 3 Improved Production races last weekend at Sandown (Melbourne Australia) inthe 2nd round of the Victorian Motor Racing Championship.

He broke the record by 1.2 seconds, he is producing in excess of 285 hp at the wheels in is S2/3 13B bp, record brekaing put down to use of his own GURU Racing products and help from Mr Anthony Rodrigues with his excellent tuning efforts.

Guru Motorsports cars are running 1st, 3rd (me) and 10th (out of 80 odd cars) in the 6 race meeting Australian National championship for 2002.

Well done Rohan and thank you for all your help.

Judge Ito,
I wish! I wish! I wish!
Thanks for the words, Rohan works very hard to do what he does and as all competitors know, it takes hundreds of hours of trial to achieve success. It has also many hours and cans of bourbon clocked up in my dyno cell and clearly is a leading car in its field. I truly enjoy my involvement with Rohan and the Twister as they are great guys and enjoy the company of other enthusiasts. We all know that a tuner is no good without an engine and an engine is no good without a tuner, so I am sure you have not heard the end of this combination. RPM is a truly evil thing!
Regards,
Anthony.

Hi, actually I think you are right sorry about that, the back section is S1, a darn site cheaper than repalcing S2/3 lights I can tell you! And yes the front bar and bumpers are S2/3.

He is in the process of building a series 6 (Gen 3) Sports Sedan (that is looking sweet) to show those guys how it is done, so look out for that! I think he wants to win both the Improved Production and Sports Sedan's, and man he can do that with the help from Anthony I can tell you.

Congrats.
An s6 sport sedan would be great!
I saw the highlights of a Phillip Island sports Sedan round on one of the telly channels yesterday - The Mikac s4 Sport Sedan is such a nice car.... and it just launched off the line so sweet.
When Anthony's finished with the blue bottle in Rohans car then perhaps he can have a go in Ivan's car!

:lol no need to convince me, ive know rohan for just over 7 years now and I used to go along to watch him race way back when he was only doing the PIARC super sprints! I even spent a few late Friday nights helping on his car when he needed a hand.

Its great to see Rohan is having good success both on and off the track, even if it is with the help of good people like yourself and Anthony.

Guys!
The series 1 is affectionately known as the TRACTOR, and we are already in enough trouble with the officials over power levels without confusing the Nitrous bottles, although we have been known to leave the odd blue bottle around the pits for a laugh. The twister wouldnt be in the joke for too long because he was too busy handing his notice on the track. Go Twister. I must let everyone in on one of our secret weapons, Rohan Ambrose is one crazy MF of a driver and has been known to reset long standing track records on the last lap on tyres that couldnt keep the tow vehicle on the straight and narrow. Advantages like that should not be overlooked!
Regards-Anthony
