The engine in my car was rebuilt about 2K miles ago using atkins 2mm seals. The car is getting tuned next week. The motor has been streetported, T78 single setup with all the supporting goodies.

My question is what's the reliability of the Atkin 2mm seals, the negatives of them and any positives of these seals.

I have had great success in the past making very good power with stock 2mm seals...

Just in case you were curious...We are looking for 450rwhp at 18 to 20lbs of boost.

I am only looking for input from people who have experience with these seals....

 

From what I've heard, i.e. this is all hearsay, the Atkins seals are a little softer than the OEM seals. Not that it's a problem but they just tend to wear a little more than OEM.

 

They'll work just fine. I use them in my rebuilds and have been for quite some time. They'll easily support the power levels, as well. The local Puerto Rican race car guys here in DFW love 'em.

All I can say is have you ever heard of bad apex seals from atkins?

 

I used their cryo'ed apex seals. They worked well, but they warped under high heat/boost situations so I switched. BUT they didn't break. (Most of you won't be running the boost I do though.)

 

I won't be running anymore than 20lbs of boost...
