Do these tweaks require more lengthy testing? When everything is a go, what kind of turn around time are we estimating?

Nope, they are just some fitting tweaks. I finished that last change today and just need to fit everything and make sure it clears the area. I'll try and get it all complete tomorrow, then off to get them chromed.

We are so close now I can smell the chrome haha
Once complete turn around should be very quick. This is the whole reason for a special set-up that will give us quick changes and of course the same reason it has been taking so long to get done.

Happy Trails,

The shop is very busy this time of year, lots to get out before break-up being that we are in oil country.
We'll have them finished by weeks end.

Yea, normally it is a very slow time of the year for my shop but they have been flooded with business non stop.
We have to do a complete change on the set-up which takes a day to do and he has to get everything off his plate to do so.

Once our trial is complete we will look at getting a dedicated set-up just for housings. We want to eventually set-up to do 4 housings at a time or more.

Everything is ready to go I'm just waiting for the phone call.

I sure hope soon! My chrome guy is so busy now and we keep bugging him to get these done.
I just talked to him again today and he is trying to finish up one job then he will set-up to do my FD housings. Can't make any promises yet as this is taking way longer than expected. The housings have been ready to do for months now.

I'll post as soon as I have something.

It's been a lot longer than that hahahha

We are in final stages but have had to re-engineer one part of the project so that we can achieve very uniform chrome thickness all along the surface. We could proceed as we are but we want to get this absolutely right without having to make changes shortly after testing the set-up.
Regards

I think at this point, I've made up my mind that this never happened and never will. I sold off my housings I had been saving for replating 6 months ago.

Really dissapointing all in all, because I had really hoped it was going to happen.

I have a 6' stack of rotor housings for when this gets sorted out...

Finding good rotors is the next problem! Seems like the rotors wear out as fast as the housings do...

I summon the spirits to revive this thread. I know it seems like it halted but I would like to know some details. I have been hoarding housings.

Although it is possible that it never will, to say that it never happened................? I think we've proved it happened with the pics of the housing. No denying it's used with new chrome.

Is progress stalled because of engineering/production obstacles or waning personal interest?
